2023 Utah Annular Eclipse Expedition

We hit the trail with our Lexus LX470 and Toyota Tundra to an extinct volcano in central Utah to celebrate the passing of the 2023 Annular Eclipse. We also ask AI to create for us a skillet camp meal to commemorate the occasion. Can AI create a decent camp meal that a bunch of picky teenagers will enjoy?

I am like your picky kids, and would have Burgers for 2nds, but that was a fun idea. The eclipse was great, and now I want to see a total eclipse.

There are some fun spots around that Mountain. We arrived too late to really get some of the top spots. Since you are on the edge of the Caldera, everything is sloped. It made for a good video, but it wouldn't be great sleeping. You can probably see in the cooking sequences that we could never get the skillet quite level!

Love the meal lol. We went south of torrey 11xxx ft up and watched it but man we froze!!!

That would have been cold! But I love Torrey and the high mountain plateaus in that area. Great choice!

Nicely done. Unknowing the eclipse was happening, we watched it from our backyard in Phoenix, AZ. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! I'm glad you got to see it! Our original plan was to take a few days off and have a fun/traditional adventure. But real life gets in the way sometimes. Still, just getting out for a dinner was totally worth it! How did it look from Phoenix? Did you get most of the Ring of Fire?

@@ForgottenWaypoints Not knowing it was occurring until we saw it in the morning news ticker we were not prepared. While not advised, I put a pinhole through a 3x5 card to sneak a peek just to see it and that was the extent of it. While I noticed you're wearing the eclipse viewing glasses, I didn't think of blindly pointing the camera in its direction. Yours came out great! Thanks for sharing.

If you don't have a filter over your camera lens made to observe the sun it can ruin the sensors in your camera.@@jatorresrv
