If they just put blinkers, sub frame, and 50/50 tires on this would sell big time as a dual sport and put a big hole in the KTM 350excf market.

I’ve got the wr250f 2023 I love mine after I opened everything up near exactly right I only had to go a couple clicks down in the compressions to lighten the forks up. Set the sag for myself, but you definitely have to uncork the bike. It’s on rideable stock. You need the competition ECU and the CCU and an exhaust system the YZ airbox two is also a suggestion, but there’s not very many things you need to do to make this bike awesome. It’s a rocket ship. It’s time I need to change the oil in the forks. Probably have the shock redone. Also, maybe not though because I’ve been riding really easy

Curious how you think this compares to the Euro 350's (and Beta 390) for trail riding. I keep being tempted by the WR's well sorted KYB suspension, but feel like I'd miss easy lofting, log clearing torque of the bigger motor of my 390.

I have the same model in a 2020 I'm sixty one and find it hard to believe that anybody makes a better trail bike. This bike performs nicely on mountain single track or out in the deserts of Idaho. I love the bike and couldn't be happier.

I know they’re completely different bikes, but would you say this bike is more or less reliable in the long run than a 2024 KTM 300 XCW? I currently have one, and I’m thinking of switching to a WR. I think it would fit my type of riding better. Thanks
@raynorbarnes47132 ай бұрын
Probably worth noting that you definitely don’t need the comp ecu, you can also just take the throttle stop screw out and replace it with a short one…

Also just realised that you guys had to buy the wifi module and map switch? The bike comes with both here in australia

I went to Race Tech springs for my weight (190 lbs) and had to go down a rate in the front and up 2 in the rear. It feels much more harmonious now. They said a lot of these new bikes come "unbalanced" from the factory. Did you find this to be the case?

I've been looking at the 250 YZfx, and the WR250f.. from what I can see, they are almost the same, with the YZ getting the upgraded ECM and less restrictive muffler, and the WR gets the multi function display and lights.. maybe suspension settings? same price point, and I'm wondering if I am missing something? I of course want all of the goodies, just wondering which to start with? ie add lights & computer to the YZ or ECM/ muffler to the WR?

Just picked up a stock 2020 WR250F with less than 5hrs on it. Took it out and man did I stall the crap out of it all day on tight tree trails! It was super "snappy" and the clutch seemed to release TOO quickly. Going down a decent graded, greasy wooded trail, I couldn't idle down in 1st or 2nd, had to feather the clutch and was stalling 50% of the time. Is this because of the bike being corked up? or a matter of mapping? Can you list the part #'s for the ECU and CCU unit. @9:34 in your video, from a stop climbing that loose rocky hill, were you clutching the whole time OR in 1st?

Sure is a nice looking bike.Good video, what range and cruising speed does it have? Could you dual sport this and keep up with with the bigger dual sports (KTM 500, Honda 450, ect) or is 250cc not enough.
@jamesoso2597 ай бұрын
Why would you think a 250 could keep up with something have has another 200-250cc lol
@DirtBikeTest7 ай бұрын
It cruises at about 45 where a 450-500 seems to easily do +10-15 mph more. The WR (or most 250cc based off or race bikes) goes plenty fast for running with bigger bikes but you will be using RPM to make the difference.
@fynn82527 ай бұрын
With the competition ECU and the "keefer free feeling" map, I was able to get 89 miles in mixed terrain. With the stock ECU, I could get around 100. Like Jimmy states, 45 mph is really the comfortable cruising speed. I've done 65 but that makes me cringe.

The WR 5 speed has the same gear spread as most 6 speeds. It’s a packaging thing in the transmission/engine to get it to fit.
