AMG needs this passion, like the old days, so many missed opportunities lately.

Just a word about the Imola Yellow B5. This car is testament to the longevity of the design. It looks absolutely amazing and as fresh today as it was all those years ago. A supremely integrated, well executed piece of design, yes, it says power and performance but doesn't shout about it . The B5 RS4 never needed to shout "look at me" like its contemporaries. If you put this alongside the other two german competitor marques offerings of the time, it's the B5 that hands down stands the test of time. The B9 swansong is, and I agree with Joe Achiles here, everything Audi should have done with the car from the get-go. They finally went there and released the true performance of the car, but all those wasted years so frustrates and annoys us Audi Fans. You have understood and captured its essence, Joe seemed unable to. As I gaze lustfully at the B5, I am left wondering how much that Imola yellow beauty would realise at auction; I had those wheels on one of the first B6 2003 A4 Cabriolets to come to the UK. I drove the car from the dealer in Bremen via a visit to Neckersulm and the Nordschleife, before boarding the Ferry from Cuxhaven to Harwich and then on to Cardiff. That beautiful car had the 3.0 Sport V6 and I remember how nice it sounded with the roof down and how many appreciative glances it received, Those wheels looked amazing and still do.

I’ve just come out of my B9 RS4 after 4 years and into an M3 Touring. M3 is LEAGUES ahead of this. I left Audi because they seem so slow in developing ‘new stuff’. There’s nothing to replace it (at least not that’s been announced yet). I did love my B9, but it is outdated now and this is ridiculous £££ for what is actually is under the skin. Having said that, I still love it, but in reality you’d be mad to part with that cash over a really well equipped M3T + £10k in the bank.

I sold Audis back in 2000, drove one of the very first B5’s and sold to a guy in slough. Raz - they were never sold as an RS4 Sport. Only RS4 Avant.

It's missing black roof rails to complete the look.

How did the steering wheel change materials?

Could be more of a sleeper, TBH, but I don't know if 'the market' feels the same about that. And to be fair, I'm more of an AMG guy anyway. But maybe if Audi made that sleeper, 🤷🏽‍♂.

Cool but 400 odd horsepower in 2024? 0-60 in 4 sec approx. 150k Euros. When you compare it to a RS6? I don't know. Value for money etc maybe the RS6 for me.

What annoys me about these new cars is first thing in the morning you open your garage door jump in the car with its cold engine, start it to get out of the garage, get out of car to shut the garage door and the car turns off the engine 🤬

RS4 my favourite Station wagon. Alpine B3 no any more ... But unfortunately the new BMW interior screens everywhere, unnecessary brightness ruin that gorgeous station wagon. Fact.
