Venice Biennale 2024: Giardini
The structure of the exhibition mirrors that of the Arsenale, with the International Art Exhibition and National Participations present in both the Giardini and various locations around Venice. This video includes photos and videos shot on April 17, 2024, during the pre-opening period at the Giardini. A total of 87 National Pavilions, each reflecting the unique themes of their respective countries, are held across 29 in the Giardini, 24 in the Arsenale, and 34 around the city center of Venice. The Korean Pavilion featured the opening of Koo Jeong A's "ODORAMA CITIES." The exhibition is co-directed by Seolhui Lee, Chief Curator at Kunsthal Aarhus, and Jakob Fabricius, Director of Art Hub Copenhagen, marking the first time the Korean Pavilion has operated under a co-artistic directorship since its opening in 1995.
전시는 크게 중앙 아르세날레에서 열리는 International Art Exhibition(본 전시)와 쟈르디니 및 베니스 곳곳에서 열리는 National Participations (국가관)으로 구성되어 있습니다. 쟈르디니에서도 본전시와 국가관이 모두 진행됩니다. 본 영상은 프리오프닝 기간인 2024년 4월 17일 쟈르디니에서 촬영한 사진과 영상입니다.
87개의 국가관이 각 국가별 주제를 가지고 자르디니 (29개관), 아르세날레 (24개관), 베니스 도심 (34개)에서 전시를 개최합니다. 한국관은 구정아 작가의 오도라마 시티 개막식이 있었습니다. 전시 감독은 이설희(쿤스트할 오르후스 수석 큐레이터)와 야콥 파브리시우스(아트허브 코펜하겐 관장)이며, 1995년 한국관 개관 이래 공동 예술감독 체제는 처음입니다.
