This is a new adventure model from BMW for the 2024. This is a first impressions ride of the 2024 BMW F850gs. A 900 cc adventure bike from BMW Motorrad. It feels a comfortable machine and a full size adventure bike. In comparison with the older model (BMW F850gs) is feels lighter and better equipped. BMW started to offer their bikes with more tech already as standard. With the 21 inch front wheel it feels a proper EDNURO bike. I pointed out the positives and negatives. Super nice bike. I thought about an Africa Twin for a while, i like the whole adventure bike that is mostly used and useful for highways.

Good job Gregor. 21” front wheel would be good for off road but it is for me too expensive to take off road. 19” would be a good compromise. Otherwise very nice I think 👍🏼

nice bike. But how good is it offroad? BMW has a good marketing tricks,but also they produce a good bikes,but this one is at my sight since it came out! Is it any good ?

looks like you had a great time on the bike, Would you change the Tracer for something like this ? Is this GS good for touring in your opinion even if it has a small fuel tank ?

I am not a fan of the 21 inch front wheel. :) Otherwise this bike has a bit harder seat too. Overall these are minor things that one may say are not important, but... to be honest the Yamaha CP3 is more fun and also a bit cheaper, at least the standard model. So, the answer is, no I wouldn't. :) Thanks for tuning in Alin. You have to try it. A very good BMW, but this is just me. :)

@@RRRRefuelRideRace this will compare with the T7 and DX , I will consider a twin but not this type, maybe the new AT with 19”front wheel 🤔 or something like the RT or K1600 for the comfort and wind protection when touring 2up 👍

@@RRRRefuelRideRace you are welcome 🙏 I love my tracer for when I’m on my own but with Mrs on the back I feel like is not comfortable enough but I cannot complain as is hard to find a bike in this price range with so much tech 🤣

@@alinwithther6 I see. I rode just on some shorter rides two up. :) The NT from Honda was a more comfortable bike for two up in my opinion. :)

Thanks for taking the time Larry. I like more the front 17 inch wheel. :) Yesterday I got home. It was a 9 days trip. Will post some photos also here, but some you already saw on the Buy me a coffee platform. How are you these days? Did you take the Z900rs for a spin? :)

@@RRRRefuelRideRace Were doing great Gregor; thanks for asking. I really don't road test bikes these days. I'm pretty set with the bikes that I have & being at my current age. The bikes I have now will carry me through with the remaining years I have left. Glad you made it home safely my friend! Cheers!!

Lep opis. Majhen rezervoar mi je takoj padel v oči. Na srečo je tu adv z 23 litri. Ali se veliko razlikujeta na pogled? Kako je z lego na cesti, zavorami, če ga primerjaš s tvojo tracer? Kako je v primerjavi z africa twin 1100 agregatom. Sihr si ga že vozil. V par stavkih lahko opišeš ti dve primerjavi. Hvala in lp

Hvala Uroš. Res je. Ni neke velike razlike. Vozi se podobno, Tracer je spredaj trši in imaš občutek, da nisi tako visoko. Bremze ima BMW boljše, ni kaj. Vsekakor je zvok na Tracerju precej lepši, vsaj meni, tudi brez aftermarket izpuha. Vozil sem NT1100, ki deluje bolj umirjeno. Občutek moči je podoben, mogoče je BMW nekoliko bolj poskočen. Ni pa nikakor bolj udoben od Honde. Sedež je na tem BMW-ju kar trd, drugače pa izgleda zelo lepo in se tudi lepo pelje. Za vse ljubitelje motociklov z 21 sprednjim kolesom. Vsekakor vreden testne vožnje.

Hi Gregor bmw upped there game with this one I think you cannot have cruise control or electric rear shock on this model only the other 900 gs the one you ride is more off road than the other 900 gs also you cannot put luggage on the rear due to no fittings soft luggage only it is a tall bike and much smaller fuel tank think there trying to stop them being top heavy I cannot wait to see what the GSA version is like coming later this year they say 👍🏍️

Thanks for tuning in Derek. For my country you can order it for 300 EUR, I mean the cruise control. I think that you are right for the electronic suspension being not available on this model. I agree on reducing the weight with smallering the fuel tank. The Trophy model is more off-roadish, it has also the lower engine cover as standard. This one was without. A nice machine for those looking for a 21 inch modern ADV bike. :)

The left one in white and blue was the Trophy. So, more of an off-road machine. :)
