lol the beginning is relatable. Our X3 is the same way. If the key is just a few inches too far away, it refuses to open the hatch or unlock the doors.

Crazy to say but I wonder if it was a software update, have the exact same issue with our older x5 and 5 series now but before it was never a problem. Just suddenly within a month it was a pain to get our doors unlocked when the keys were far away.

I love BMWs 🥰 The X5 is super luxurious with the full leather seats, I'm gonna get a 2020 BMW X3 when I get my license.

@@hunterrrdrives I will, and let me tell ya. BMWs are excellent vehicles that I’m just an ordinary fan of that, such as the electric motor features and the inline 6-cylinder that those engines stayed forever, 2020 is when they stop making the i8 which is such a shame that they don’t make these cars anymore. For me I’m just a BMW Enthusiast that I like about the brand new interior and many power features. But I think the 2025 BMW M2 is coming out pretty soon.

Because the numbers BMW uses are meaningless now. They just use whatever numbers they like. The X3 is the 40, but remember, the X5 is “better” than the X3. So they can’t also call it the 40 despite having the same engine. No, the X5 must be a higher number, so 50.

X3 still uses 30i for 4 cylinder and M40i for the B58. The 50e models now designate the Plug-in hybrid B58. The 40i is for non-hybrid B58 cars. The X5 still uses 40i for the non hybrid b58 motor. Any new current bmw with “60i” is now the V8.

@@2isadventures I think they had it corrected in 2022. At some point if they keep up-badging they are going to run out and be forced to go back down. The x5 45e made sense kinda but a 40e would make even more sense. A 50 is just a bad choice because that has always been a v8.

This "50" with a 3.0 has more power than the "60s" with a real 6.0 of a few years ago.

I’m so happy I got iDrive 7 before iDrive8 came out. Old system is so much better with real buttons. Not that IDrive 7 is perfect either. Lots of dumb things. The car always has to start on the Guest profile instead of defaulting to your own profile. You can link/lock your profile to a SPECIFIC key, and then it starts to your profile, but then you are locked out from accessing your profile if you use any other key. Dumb stuff like that. Not to mention if you close the trunk with the button or leg kick and walk away, the car will not automatically lock itself despite having the “automatically lock when walking away” feature turned on. Such terrible oversights. But the B58 >>>>> incredible power and great fuel economy considering the hp
