The Calgary Stampede is an annual event which takes place every July. Its roots date back to 1886 and transformed to a world-renowned rodeo festival in 1912. The city of Calgary, Canada is home to this 10-day festival, which today has transcended just rodeos to a host of fun-filled activities that include stage shows, chuckwagon racing, midway, stage shows, concerts, assortment of games and rides. The precursor of all these activities is of course the Stampede Parade which serves as the official opening of this annual event, popularly billed as “the greatest outdoor show on earth”!
