I mean, I've seen literally all of his films all the way back to Kinetta. Just because he started out as a member of the Greek Weird Wave movement in cinema does not mean that he is not currently a mainstream Hollywood filmmaker. Someone can have arthouse sensibilities while also catering to the Hollywood mainstream, which Yorgos has been doing since 2018. And he's been known in the west since 2010 when Dogtooth got an Oscar nomination, which is when I first encountered him. Your argument is like saying Denis Villeneuve is not a mainstream filmmaker because he started out in Canada making indies and has been selected at Cannes before. Doesn't matter what a filmmaker has done in the past, the work they're doing now defines them at this point in their career. - M
