Incase they have contested without any seat share r Alliance NOT even get 15 seat is ground reality. Great analysis! Quite reassuring to many nationalists who were down in morale after the relatively poor performance by BJP. One wishes that the BJP also does a similar analysis to shore up its strength in areas where it has lost votes and seats. Interestingly, in 2004 as well something similar happened whereby NDA lost power by a very small margin and the country had to suffer the most corrupt and minority appeasing UPA for over a decade!

Great analysis. However, West Bengal has neither 85 million, nor 90 million people. That's 15 year old data. It has between 102-106 million, including at least 10 million infiltrators.

@@umasreedhar1206 not counting all infiltrators. Probably 25% of them. Majority of infiltrators don't have voter id's. They use the state as a staging post to spread to other regions. Voter Id's and on the other hand is given to a section of BD who come in, vote, accept payment and go back. All in all, the actual numbers are fluid and difficult to pin down

As a person from Tamilnadu I would say that Assembly election is the one which actually shows whether BJP grown or ADMK loss... It's a different State and without PM candidate ADMK lost badly but actual strength of ADMK will be seen only in 2026.. Then only we can come to conclusion

1. One major conclusion after watching this excellent video is - Modi's whirlwind campaigning all over India did not add any votes to BJP. Therefore, Modi should not do so much of campaigning but instead, BJP should focus on ground level workers and direct touch with voters. This will help BJP much better as Modi should campaign only strategically. RSS can help it in a better way too. Focus will be on hard work at ground level. 2. The conundrum of vote share versus number of seats- On vote share, since at most places, there has been one to one fight between NDA and INDIA, BJP lost, though BJP vote share remained almost same but votes of opposition consolidated. So BJP must forget about wooing minority votes but focus entirely on majority community and do social engineering in this segment. Since Hindus do not vote as ''Hindus'' ( unlike minority community voters) but more on caste affiliation and who is offering maximal freebees (including 500 rupees note before voting!!), BJP must take right lessons and devise strategies accordingly. 3. Modi is undoubtedly most liked leader but voters do NOT vote for him but for the local MP. So BJP cannot take any turncoats from any party and put up as BJP candidates, ignoring its workers. So BJP must understand that voters vote for the person who is candidate as MP plus for BJP and finally for Modi. So how much ever popular Modi is, the choice of candidate is crucial. 4. Further, BJP need not and should not win more than 300+ or - seats so long as it gets absolute majority. Otherwise, arrogance of MPs and MLAs will lead to dissatisfaction amongst the voters. So let opposition have some room too and let there be noise but keep governance and people orientation of the BJP in tact. This is the key to continued BJP government at the Centre.

Loyalty to the place where you live in and to the people you live with is a matter of survival. It's nothing but an extension of your basic instinct for self reservation. The existence of those who lack it is under threat. I fully agree with that.
