People are acting like the new mustangs are so much more money than the last one. The msrp of my s550 pp1 without mag ride was 55 and with mag ride around 60.

I wouldn't say "inspired by" either Accord or Elantra. Similar, yes, but the idea that the Mustang was influenced by those seems rather unlikely. But I don't know.

I rented a V6 Mustang about 15 years ago. It would do burn outs even with just the V6. Was very fun around town. But I didn't like the highway ride at all. Way too busy and bumpy. Going way back, I rented early Fox body Mustangs in the early 1980s. Those I actually liked a lot and remember being very impressed with the ride and handling.

I still miss my 2015 EcoBoost. Yeah it's nice to have V8 noises but the EB was so much lighter and athletic feeling. The 5.0 in the S550s felt so heavy and I imagine that still is the case in these new ones. I'd love to try one out soon.

Great review. I'm absolutely loving the new car. The screens are a welcomed upgrade over the s550 (I'm biased tho as ive had two and was genuinely tired of that interior). All around, the s650 is a better, more refined car than the s550.

I instantly thought two intakes would look amazing on that. All carbon fiber. A set of headers. The aftermarket is going to have a field day with this. Once they fix out their build quality issues (standard first year ford stuff).

15mpg I made the right decision to get the 4cylinder turbo

It's not "significantly redesigned" it has a new dashboard and front bumper. I'm getting sick of people calling this rEdeSigNeD. Not a Vette fanboy but C7 to C8 is an example of redesign.

The exterior is not too bad. I like the front end refresh. Dual fuel injection, auto start/stop, and cylinder deactivation has ruined the coyote. The interior absolutely sucks. I can’t beleive ford put those big stupid screens in it. If i wanted to sit in front of an ipad, i surely wouldn’t give $60k for it.

Excellent review! Seems very objective and thorough. I agree on your points re the side mirrors small size. Sound of exhaust is amazing. Manual option excellent. Comfortable driving. Lack of switches and knobs is a flaw. To much reliance on computer screen for me. I prefer the BMW interior controls and build quality. I’d take an M2 or M4. For $60k it’s a bit pricey but you get the monster sound and power feel. The sound is the major draw.

60k for a mustang is way too much. Especially if you’re gonna make the interior out of plastic.

When the 2015's came out, the styling was controversial. I really liked it. Then everyone warmed up to it. When the 2018's came out, many were poopooing the styling changes on that one too. I wasn't quite as keen on it as I was the 2015's but I didn't think it was as bad as some were making it out to be. I've warmed up to it nicely and wouldn't be opposed to it at all. Now the 2024's are being released and I'm kind of where I was with the 2018's as far as the exterior styling is concerned but as before but I don't think it's that bad. What I'm struggling with on the 2024's is the interior. I'm not keen on the dash layout with those two large electronic screens. To me, they look like a couple of notebooks that have been bolted on top of the dash like an afterthought. I didn't really care for the electronic dash they introduced on the 2018+ models but at least it looked like it was designed to be part of the dashboard.

Im thinking they got rid of the hard buttons for hvac to save on manufacturing costs. I would rather the buttons and knobs and a smaller screen if needed

The exterior isn't bad just like my last gf, she'll look fine with a few drinks in me, but that interior is atrocious. I hate screens. Ruined the car. So sad because this could have been an amazing send off to the mustang

....this robotic transformer childish design makes 2013 Roush shining with ideal balance of sporty elegance and muscularity of a classic gentlemans GT.....meanwhile current Darth Vader fascia and overal look won't age well....
