Those hard to get to valve stems are highly protected from being torn off or cut. May be annoying but it only makes the setup more reliable.

That’s true, for Michigan it’s probably overkill but elsewhere if you’re doing a lot of rock crawling it’s great protection. I wish they just would’ve put the valve stem in one of the larger spokes.

Nice man. I'm not a fan of these trucks, but the ranger raptor makes a lot more sense IMHO than the regular f150 raptor. You definitely want a smaller truck for these sort of things. The ranger also looks more fun. Edit: as always though I wish they made a regular cab version of this with a longer bed.

Oregon Sand dunes here. If the sand is wetter, it's going to be harder, so no need to air down as far. When the sand is dry, you're going to want to air down more

Take it to a tire shop and have them put longer valve stems in them. Very cool lil truck! Almost sounded like a SxS at WOT.

If someone hasn't said it yet, wet sand gives you better grip in the dunes try it when the sand is bone dry to decide if it's the truck or the sand that is giving you the fantastic traction. Traction is even better when the sand is frozen.

Now you just have to change your thumb position off-road and you’re all set to go. That’s what most owner’s manual says when going off-road, and I think it makes sense when you have to do a quick and unexpected manoeuvre. I’ve tried both ways and sometimes the suggested method is better in some cases.

We take our 16' explorer sport in the sand at Pismo, put it in sand mode, air down, goes through the soft stuff, no problem!

Does the ranger raptor share the same/similar engine to the Explorer ST? They both have 3.0l tt v6 but im not sure if they are the same

It’s very close, almost identical to the Bronco Raptor, but with slightly longer exhaust piping.

If you have a screw driver with swappable bits, i've found that using one of those w/o a bit can be a decent way to remove/replace valve stem covers depending on how the end of the cap is shaped

What flag set up is that? Do you carry any recovery gear? I just got my raptor two weeks ago, trying to get ideas for gear to get for off roading

Flag is just a suction cup mount, goes on just about everything. I always carry a bridle, long kinetic rope, a couple soft shackles, and foldable traction boards 👍 Congrats on your Raptor, enjoy your adventures in it!

Haven’t driven it in a heavy rain yet but the KO3s are just slightly better, still leave a lot to be desired in the wet. I aired down to 33 psi cold and that helped a lot, but I’ll most likely switch to something else unfortunately. Love the way they look, but I preferred my Firestone Destination X/Ts

Gotta take the little hills slowly, flags help but you have to be careful. All the big dunes have one way traffic 👍

Aired down to 10-15 psi it’d be a champ. It’s light so it’d float pretty easily

The regional configuration decisions are odd. I noticed a base-level Ranger in Asia has rear air vents but the NA product managers decided we did not need them,

@@chrispnw2547 As a Ranger Raptor Owner I almost have a little Tin Foil hat conspiracy that since Ford is super protective of the F150 they decided to do some things to not make the Ranger Raptor quite as good as it could have been compared to its larger brothers the F150 Raptor and Bronco Raptor. There's no AC Vents in the backseats which is strange because the Australian version and I believe the European version does- There are vents present but they are just under the Driver and Passenger Seats blowing straight back. There's no Cooled Seats- Again I'm sure Ford would argue it was for cost but I just find it stranger there's no cooled seat option- though it does have heated seats a The BRONCO Raptor has the same Engine but 13 more HP and 10 more pounds of torque which I'm sure that's nothing on most days, BUT the Aussies are getting an easy 450+ out of them and Hennessey (If you can trust them) got 500 out of it which leads me to believe the 3.0 as a whole is being kept under that 450 which is what the Regular F150 Raptor has.
