Finally a third row option that fits adults without having to go to a Sienna or Sequoia. This is going to be a game changer. Also love the way the aesthetics have evolved. Specifically the front headlight + valance + grill area and also the athletic stance.

Seqouia doesn’t fit adults anymore in the third row. Seqouia has been rendered pointless by Toyota, and Grand Highlander is the actual full-size SUV.

Stop locking features behind subscriptions, first remote start and now traffic jam assist. DO NOT NORMALIZE SUBSCRIPTIONS FOR VEHICLES. Shame on you Toyota. EDIT: For those that think that the key fob remote start subscription is still a rumor, go to Toyota's Audio and Connected Services support and see for yourself that it is no longer a rumor and is actually tied to a subscription. This is for vehicles equipped with Remote Connect.

Subscription services to activate convenience functions on your $60k vehicle? Toyota is brilliant! Charging $500-$1000 for car paint was such a profitable idea …why stop there? Toyota didn’t! Why rob people at the time of purchase of the car like for paint or paint sealant or nitrogen pumped into tires, etc…why not get residual monthly payments for the life of the toyota vehicle for operating a previously installed software package for traffic convenience driving functions. Kudos to Toyota for finding ways to increase their profits even more!

@@locosmiley2008 if you still buy a car from mazda or subaru or lexus or maybe if you live in asia you will know brands like hino or daihatsu as well, then it still makes toyota profitable because toyota has ownership stakes in all those brands. Toyota is the owner of the highest share in Subaru, and even the manufacture of American Mazda cars is also at the Toyota factory while Lexus is the main subsidiary, so if you say that Toyota is capitalist or monopolizes the car market, that is true. Even mazda cars that are PHEV or hybrid will use toyota hybrid powertrain technology (and toyota has also adopted mazda's skyactive method too)

I bought the first 2014 XLE Highlander that made it to my local dealer and the wife and I loved it. When my daughter with three kids was having trouble with her mini van we gave her the Highlander and bought a brand new 2019 RAV4 Limited Hybrid. We love it but the wife misses her Highlander. Now a new Grand Highlander model comes along at the perfect moment. You can bet the new Max Hybrid will be gracing our garage as soon as we can get our hands on one.

Finally, Toyota has a big three-row crossover! It took so long! The Sequoia and Land Cruiser were impractical due to their unnecessary weight due to their more sophisticated 4WD system and dated body-on-frame platform. Toyota has finally come out with unibody SUV with the space and size of a Land Cruiser or Sequioa.

More like Grand RAV4LANDER ,I’m not complaining about the look I’m just saying that looks more like a RAV4 than Highlander,I think is better this way because the more square body should have more interior space,I don’t like that big suv are making engines only with 4 cylinders,big suvs should come with optional v6 ,even v8,Toyota’s v6s and v8s are legendary on reliability and they last forever.

I own two Toyotas, one is a Hybrid. I believe that Toyota has it right overall as I will not consider a plug-in EV under anything close to prevailing conditions and technology. Both of my vehicles have proven reliable and tough enough to handle all four seasons without significant reductions in range or towing regardless of temperature or weather.

@@user-yx4on8hx4w hopefully this will come with third row airbags. Can't recall if previous Highlander models came with them. The Palisade does. It also comes with rear occupancy alert to save kids from being left in the car by accident. This occurs way too frequently.

Really wish we could get something in between the sequoia and the grand highlander. Something rugged but also plenty of cargo room and versatile for a family. I love the features of the Highlander but the sequoia LOOKS so much better

hopefully one day. this is a segment and vehicle ive been waiting for: an 8 seater hybrid thats NOT a minuvan. i mean the toyota sequoia does have a hybrid already. if it wasnt for the kia Canival, a suv stylized minivan, yet its fuel economy is on par with other 3 row suvs (25 mpg highway) what vehicle DID YOU WANT? because there seems to have your type of vehicle already.

you must be joking right? it's never avail on the lower models, no matter what brand. it wouldn't make sense. they'd want to offer better value elsewhere on lower models, pano sunroof is on the way way way end of things needed on the base model

@Dave Wilson that's great news! The XLE trim will be a great relative value. Question: do you know if toyotas allow their lane tracing assist to operate independently of the adaptive cruise? Both KIA/Honda allow this lane centering tech to work independently and it is really nice. Thanks.

Grand highlander has a perfect size, it is not too small or too big, It is the SUV of my dream I saw it at the new york auto show, my only complaint is that the word grand high lander stamped on the trunk door is too small they should be at least 3/4 or 1/2 inch bigger

One thing I dislike about Toyota is rather than having direct control over Toyota vehicles we have dealerships in the US that force customers to buy accessories to maximize profit, prioritizing profit over real-value service. I say this as I have been buying buying Toyota vehicles for the past 40 years in 3 different countries and I have no intention of trying any other brand vehicle.

Said I’d never drive a non American car. After 2 blazers, 2 suburbans, 2 Silverado’s and now a Tahoe, I’ve had enough of expensive Chevrolets that don’t hold up. Very expensive repairs after warranty. I think at 65 this might be the car for my retirement. Will still have the space I need with good looks and gas mileage. Not the deck out Tahoe or trucks I love but a beautiful and dependable sizing down I can appreciate.

The exposed usb outlet on the passenger dashboard should have a flip cover because it should be integrated seamlessly in the design. Since it’s exposed, it looks cheap/tacky.

I've seen SUV cars reviewed generally the third-row seats are uncomfortable but this grand highlander is awesome it all advanced features are equipped in this car however horsepower is great AND the TORQUE is SPECIALLY WIRELESS CABLE THAT IS GOOD

We were going to wait for this car until we saw Toyota charging subscriptions for driving assist and digital key features, something all the Korean brands (Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis) include with the car. There's no reason for features like this to require a subscription other than Toyota's greed.

Toyota: Please bring back V6, naturally aspirated, engines. The available 2.4L Turbo on a vehicle of this size puts undue stress on the aluminum block. Your team tried dropping the V8 in place of a V6 Turbo on the new Tundra's and customers starting dealing with engine issues that, if not covered under warranty, would cost in excess of $8000 USD! Toyota, you know full well that the majority of buyers don't do a deep dive into the specs and research the accompanying issues. Please don't be opportunistic... Your company is better than that.
