2024 First cutting of Coastal Bermuda Hay. We had a lot of firsts this go around. First time using our square baler, accumulator, and grapple to any extent. We were so slow but had a ball.

Way to get after it there gurl. Hay looked really good. That's a pretty nice baler setup there. Glad you were able to get the nitrogen down ahead of a rain shower to help things along. Thanks for the ride along. Take care.

Looking good! How did you guys make out on square bales? Find some good horse customers that want clean hay like yours and those square ps will be worth it.

Thank you. We were averaging 50 bales per acre on our best field and 41 per acre on others for 535 total. I have thoroughly enjoyed this adventure

Hay looks great. I’d love to know a cost per acre for what’s being sprayed, I guess I know it’s easy to spend a fortune on chem to make clean hay but at what cost and can you really recover that cost vs just having a few unwanted weeds/grasses.

That is a very real point. The cost of everything is sky high and if it wasn't for foxtail, some variable grasses would be acceptable. When I was just keeping bushes and briars out of the fields, it was a lot more enjoyable. But when foxtail moved in, it turned everything on its head. It's a real rock and a hard spot situation.
