Just like the Civic it's based on, the Honda CR-V is getting up there in price but as you'll see in the "is-it-really-a-base-variant" 2024 Honda CR-V 1.5 V Turbo, you do get a lot of car for your money.

wow! the Honda CRV has indeed come a long way! i remember how it was introduced in tv ads sometime 1995. i was driving my 6-year old Daughter on a beaten-up Dodge Colt back then. what caught the attention of everyone (including my late Tatay) was its tail lights. they were perched conspicuously high up (and vertically at that!) as compared to the lower position and horizontal orientation of rear lamps of the numerous upcoming AUVs of that time. the tv ad even went as far as explaining what 'CRV' meant - Comfortable Runabout Vehicle. which was likewise intense and really fascinating. i hope Honda comes up with an HEV model of this CRV.

The base model just looks too bland. And the new price also doesn't do it any favors.

You keep talking about the unit being a "base variant" like it's a good thing? this car has too many bells and whistles to be a base variant, with the price to boot. Honda is just gouging at their loyal customers at this point, they could've removed tons of features to make the price around 1.8m but then it woudve still be very expensive for a "base variant". They are trying to be an upscale product yet have a measly 1.5T with cvt.

Honda use to be a good brand, loved my dad's Accord, loved my first Honda Prelude in the 90's. But now, CVT across all models, and their declining reliability, I suggest to stay away from Honda for now. Don't just take my word for it. Check out honda reliability on the internet before hating on my comment.

Honda's CVT is one of the best in the world. Honda is still more reliable than most brands. If you will check the internet, almost all car brands have major recalls and reliability issues like Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi etc... Also, the CR-V is the 3rd best selling crossover/SUV in the world in 2023 with over 600k unit sales behind only to the RAV4 and Tesla Model Y and currently they increase their unit sales in USA and Canada despite your so called reliability issues which all car brands has.

While it is true that there has been a recall for 2007-2010 CR-Vs regarding their automatic transmissions the fix was a software patch to resolve the issue. What I love about these companies is that they address these faults by issuing recalls to fix the issue instead of turning a deaf ear to the consumer. Thanks for your comment!

Wow lot of money CVT not good can get Chery 8 pro much more spec and cheaper even the 2.0 litre AWD is cheaper than the base model Honda

I drove the Tiggo 8 AWD and boy howdy does it pull! The Honda might not be as powerful and luxurious inside but I can't deny how smooth the CVT is in this thing. Thanks for leaving us a comment!!

I'd rather wait until 10 years and still lot of 10 y.o. Chery cars on the roads before considering the brand. My old CR-V is 24 y.o. and still running fine.
