I wouldn’t get an electric vehicle altogether if I were you. Infrastructure is not strong enough yet.

@@MukisaSS With the Tesla network being opened to everyone Id say it's possible to road trip with confidence. Purchasing an EV outright is still an awful idea due to the depreciation. The ford dealership in my town literally has a sign out front that says $14000 off the Mach E. I'm willing to bet they don't sell because no one wants and SUV "mustang", though. Down with the egg shaped cars I say! Bring back the boxes of doom.

@@MukisaSSSomehow it has been strong enough for us living in Idaho and CA. I think that kind of advice is more meaningful if we know their use case and situation (home charging etc).

This is a great offering but the issue is it’s 20k over the Telluride. That’s way too high of a difference for the average buyer.

I paid less than $8K for a top trim GT-Line over what I would have paid for the top trim Telluride. Still more, but a whole lot less than $20K.

If I were to ever get this car which id like a new one but my question is. Can you manually take off SiriusXM from the start option? Every time I'm in my 2017 KIA Sorento it goes to SiriusXM and only on the 2019 can you remove SiriusXM as an option. I only use Bluetooth for all my needs

Topher i know you recently got the GS, but if I was selling my EV for a nice used daily (2015-2021) what would you personally go for? An IS? TLX?

The gt line or any version with the rear air suspension will wobble really bad and feel like you’re about to lose control whenever you hit a bump on the highway while the road is curving left or right. I found out the hard way. I bought a gt line

I bet you they did have a fire name associated with the GT line but didn’t want to associate the vehicle with fire considering some of the other fire thing going on with EVs 😅

I could see choosing an ICE competitor like Telluride or CX-90 due to the price, but if the EV9 gets some discounts and tax incentives so there isn’t as big of a price difference, what would your opinion be? You say you prefer ICE due to range, but that comes into play, what, several times per year? The other 350+ days, wouldn’t you rather have the instant throttle response, faster acceleration, quieter ride, less maintenance, ability to fill up at home instead of a gas station, ability to idle and relax in your car without running a loud and wasteful engine, and cheaper fuel that an EV offers? I have a CX-9 now, but would consider replacing it with an EV9 if I got a great deal.

It's so funny to hear all these old school auto journalist on ICE, OH NO only 280 mile range then I have to stop for 20 mins to charge. Apparently, they road trip every weekend or something lol. When in reality you charge at home 90% of the time. Don't get me wrong I am big mazda fan but spending $60k on a CX90 then paying more for gas and oil changes in 2024 just seems kinda silly. Not to mention there are lower priced trims available in the EV9. Now if we are talking about a miata, then let's go, Mazda all day!

Old school... jeez! Maybe just an old soul. I'm 25. I do actually road trip quite frequently, as seen here on the channel! Also consider that 20 minutes to charge is absolute best case scenario. I've waited 30-45 minutes in line at charging stations. Usually because half the chargers are down. And yep! EV9 starts at $55k, CX-90 starts at $37k. Lots of gas and oil changes required to make up that $18k difference :)

For non long distance driving , I def prefer the quietness and smoothness of the EVs. The constant start/stop of the rough ice engine driving school pickups drives me crazy! And for family usage, the cx90 is a horrible choose. It’s huge outside but lacks any usageble 2nd and 3rd space.

I test drove this car and it's great. Interior is gorgeous. Acceleration is great. It's super quiet. I hated the shifter. The exterior is meh for me. It's also overpriced

Hmmmmmmmm... Looks like those cars from 90's early 2000 space movies....that's where the inspiration for this car come from. Something abt EV that don give me that trust. They selling like is the best thing and will help decrease the levels of Co2, but im not seeing nobody explaining where the batteries go after life/ how much African countries will suffer for providing the minerals that are needed to built those electric batteries .... etc etc , yall get the picture. How those cars will handle on Tornados /Hurricanes days...because we saw how they acted when that blizzard hit Midwest

Doesn’t help that many auto makers didn’t hit their EV sales goals, so now they’re announcing that they’re pulling back on their EV dedication. People don’t want EVs.

all valid skepticism and criticism. the reason for poor EV performance during blizzards is the low temperature requiring energy to be used to heat the battery to operating temperature. so hurricanes/tornadoes should have no effect because those typically occur during warm weather seasons when EV batteries perform better. however, hurricanes and tornadoes are known to knock out power infrastructure which could leave you stranded.

Because there is no need for a front grille which changes the front fascia completely. And a lot of the design has to do with efficiency too. And it’s “electric” not “eclectic” that’s a style

love the car ! but it's way too expensive ! it starts at 75k€ and your version would be 86k ! also a Model X starts at 109k€...

This is literally just an electric Telluride 🤣🤣 it’s like Mazda calling the CX 70 a “new” model when it’s just a CX 90 without the third row. Imma need these car makers to start getting a litttttttlee more creative 🥶

They do it purposely. Same reason the upcoming Volvo EX90 looks almost identical to the XC90. Market differentiation from Tesla. Tesla already has the egg-shaped big sedan posing as an SUV market. Kia, Volvo and others are appealing to people who specifically wanted something more like their favorite ICE vehicles but as EVs. For many, the fact that it looks like an SUV is a plus.
