Lexus introduces the all-new, entirely redesigned 2024 GX, ushering in a new era. The first-generation GX arrived in North America in 2002 as a mid-luxury SUV force to be reckoned with. Lexus aficionados have hailed the company's famed off-road aptitude and ability to navigate tough terrain, transporting clients comfortably from errands to distant locations.
The all-new GX offers consumers the duality expected of a luxury SUV: a tough, competent appearance combined with elegant interior components that contribute to the creation of a road-trip sanctuary. The sleek and stylish cabin will assist drivers and passengers regardless of the duration of the journey. The all-new GX has the driver-focused cockpit design found in the all-new RX, as well as thoughtful details that give the driver confidence to focus on the route ahead.
The all-new lower, horizontal instrument panel design that flows into the dash for a streamlined front and passenger seat experience, delivering superb front and side sight, is a significant advance over the previous generation model. It creates a clean, open area that connects the optional Head-Up Display (HUD) to the center, which houses the standard 14-inch Multimedia Touchscreen Display with Lexus Interface technology. All relevant off-road controls are located around the gear changer to assist limit possible driver distraction. The 2024 GX includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, as well as a digital 12.3 Multi-Information Display (MID).
With seating for up to seven passengers, the all-new GX has thoughtful touches at every step. Ergonomic measures such as seat cushion, seatback bolster, and headrest enhancements have been incorporated to help reduce load and improve driving posture. Front seat hip point to heel height has been increased by 1.18 inch.
The second row is available in two configurations: captain's chairs or a split-folding bench with a 60 and 40 split. For easy access to the third row and luggage space, a one-motion tumble mechanism has been added. The driver and front passenger seats are heated and ventilated as standard, with heated second-row seats optional. Power and manual seat combinations are available for the third row. For added safety and convenience, a back seat reminder has been included.
The earth-tone interior color scheme is meant to complement the scenery outside the vehicle's doors. The inside of the 2024 GX is offered in semi-aniline leather and NuLuxe trim in Black, Dapple Gray, or Saddle Tan with black or dark brown grained trim. GX-exclusive color combinations include Black NuLuxe trimmed interior with Olive Ultrasuede accents and Chateau NuLuxe trimmed interior with Olive Ultrasuede accents and black ornamentation.
To round off the tech-focused cabin, there are six lighted charging outlets (four in Overtrail) and a wireless charger in the front console tray. Of course, inside storage capacity in the center console, door pockets, and up to 12 cupholders has been enhanced. Luggage space has increased in both the second and third row configurations compared to the previous generation, storing up to 5 suitcases when the third seat is folded. Two more storage areas under the cargo area have been built to handle smaller objects, and a 120 Volt AC inverter has been installed for additional power demands.
The 2024 GX comes standard with a 10-speaker premium surround sound system, with a 21-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound system available as an option. Digital Key, Cool Box, Head-Up Display, Traffic Jam Assist, Cold Area Package, and Tonneau Cover are available as options, depending on grade. ‎ ‎
