I really enjoyed seeing you do normal things in the car. It makes way more sense to see how it backs into a parking lot or goes through a drive-through than to see someone drive backroads and then the highway. I like both but seeing how it fits in tight places and turning radius is more practical.

The longer format and real world living experience was great! I think you should continue videos like this for these types of vehicles.

As someone who works for Mercedes, the GLS does not have rear wheel steering. It's currently available on the EQ cars and the S class.

It looks like the cargo net is missing, but there are hooks on the side for it. I'm with you on the bags moving annoyance, but I think the cargo net would address it. I don't think Lexus will sell a ton of the FSport Perforrmance models, but overall they will sell a boatload of these things! Thanks for posting!

I think the problem is that the TX has WAY more interior space than luxury, despite being a “luxury” SUV. Lexus is getting a bit lazy imo, and the pricing that includes the lacking “luxury” part of the car doesn’t help either. Interior space isn’t on everyone’s checklist when buying a luxury SUV, so I’m not surprised when I see people saying they would rather get an Acura MDX despite it having MUCH less interior space than the TX. The TX is the cheapest “luxury” SUV that has this level of interior space before you get to the Escalade imo, if you don’t count maybe the Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon and Yukon XL. If interior space isn’t that much of a concern, competitors including but not limited to the X7, GLS, Q7, and upper-trims CX-90 start to look very appealing. The TX isn’t as luxurious as it is spacious, and that is its biggest problem. Apparently the TX (if you DON’T get the F-sport variant shown in the video) has better ride quality than the Grand Highlander it’s based on, but I haven’t even test-driven both of them yet so I’m probably biased.

Great review. I bought a Highlander last year and I noticed a similar rattle from the same areas in the Highlander. I also noticed that anything but the smoothest roads isn't a pleasant ride. Wind noise is also prominent at higher speeds. My solution is to drown it all out by turning the radio up when I'm driving. I'm surprised to see the same thing happen in a 80k Lexus. Seems like Toyota isn't paying attention to the interior quality and ride quality. This is my 2nd Highlander... I just jumped into this 2nd Highlander expecting better quality than I got... very disappointed at this point and not planning to get another Toyota product in the future. I'll still assume that Toyota products are likely to have a low cost of ownership... but the enjoyment of that (if it turns out to be true) is severely reduced by interior quality issues and average ride quality on bumpy roads.

Dude back door opens on my 2018 RX 350L with the key in my pocket ... very old tech. The only reason you buy Lexus over X5 is for a peace of mind after 3 years. With X7, you became BBF with the service department staff.

I think the TX is one of the better new luxury crossovers to come out. Well it is the best at being a family hauler period, it is bigger on the inside compared to anything, the MDX, QX60, even to bigger cars like the X7and GLS, it offers more space in some cases or just as much space. To get anything bigger on the inside you’ll have to step up to something like an Escalade and that’s not gonna give you that much more space. Secondly is the efficiency, all of its competitors that have around the same power, i.e the MDX Type S etc, all will cost significantly more at the pump. For our family that’s all we need, we were gonna get the Plug-in Hybrid, cos the fuel mitigation benefits are very eye catching to us but unfortunately Lexus doesn’t let you get the Pano roof, so we’ll be getting the 500h instead. We’re really looking forward to it, we’ve had a great experience with our GH so this should be even better

lexus Tx is pride tag to high and what you get is less.. 59k car with 4 engine. 275hp drive like a toyotA...72k for an hybrid 4 engine with 366hp i haven't test out yet but i think is a toyota... 88k for a plug in hybrid 6 engine with that price im buying a bmwx7

I like it but probably will be hard to justify the premium over the Grand Highlander for most people. If the 500h was a plug in hybrid and got the tax credit it might make a little more sense.

Power folding seats are truly stupid. I like it but not enough to spend another $15k for the same spec level. Yeah, you get stuff for the $15k but I don't think it's enough. 10k maybe yeah, but 15k definitely not.

Lexus and toyotas designs are overlapping too much if you cover up the emblem in the interior you could not tell the difference

I don’t understand why people keep comparing this car to the Grand Highlander. Even though they might be similar somewhat, I don’t think so people who wants a Lexus would think about the Grand Highlander, what so ever.

Not that it isn’t a nice product from Lexus, but I miss the days of leather and wood and coziness. When I see a Lexus suv I’m taken back to the 2007 RX 350 I owned that was draped in rich leather, thick wood, and neutral tones. This doesn’t look (at least on camera) to be very upscale and if I didn’t see the Lexus emblem on the steering wheel I would think I was inside of a Mitsubishi Outlander. This interior is dark, drab, and loaded with plastic and electronics. I’m not loving it.

This looks like a Toyota, not a Lexus. Literally, they just swapped the badge to Lexus.

Lots of things wrong here but the main 3 are: you backed into a parking spot without turning your head around AT ALL. You NEVER rely on the cameras ONLY. Second, I'm almost positive the trunk area has hooks on the sides to hold the bags from rolling all over the place. Finally, you never put a greasy bag of food on the seat.

Wind noise in lexus 🤮. What is benefit of luxury car if it is not quieter inside cabin. My friend has highlander 22 what i dont like about is shocks and same wind noise. After seeing different reviews on lexus TX on different channels i assumed this is their issue. Wind noise is like thunder sound from driver side window. And on smalls bums car get shocked like whole body hit with hammer. Totally disappointing

In Canada a TX500h is $94k which is insane. That’s Audi Q7 money. - I’ve never driven a Lexus model and thought “man I’d buy this”. They’re just so bland. Lexus is trying to make them “sporty” I don’t get it.
