1. From 4 cylinder engine to 3 cylinder engine... 2. From 89 BHP to 81 BHP... 3. From 113 NM of Torque to 112 NM of Torque... 4. Looks are polarizing, and the previous generations were much better in terms of looks 5. Prices have increased even more despite the downgrades!!! 6. Safety is a story for another day People can chill, I'm not a particular fanboy, it's just that in every aspect I see, it only appears like a downgrade. Maruti only focuses on mileage and practically speaking nothing else.. One can get an Ignis or Baleno in the same price range which has more power and 4 cylinder engine, and the Baleno has much better build quality, features, comfort, space and my friend told that Nexa dealerships are much superior compared to the Arena dealerships PS: It's not an issue if the car is downgraded in few aspects, but the asking price is much more compared to before, and I reckon the Indian bound Swift won't be as pleasing as the European or Japanese ones in terms of build quality and safety...

Yeah if they hadn't increased the price then I think I'd have considered it. But for the same price I can get that sweet 4 cylinder engine in Baleno plus more features and space than this, so yeah, this car for the price doesn't make much sense

Bro at the cost of new swift base model you can get nissan magnite Xl amt which will give you around same Mileage, more features, 4star safety (2nd best safety in the segment after nexon and 3x0)....or even go for baleno... Swift is priced based on demand... Remember jimny? They priced it from 12 lakh and when they didn't see demand to buy it at such high price they brought it down to 10lakh and that's crazy price cut knowing that people who brought it for 12lakh now take huge loss in resale value... If swift doesn't have demand, they'll lower the price too... Same thing with fronx which is another overpriced product even though it's just baleno with connected tail light...

@@THUGPUTIN: Fronx is not same like in baleno, panels are different and heavy. Build quality in fronx seems better than baleno. Even though 1.2l engine is same in both cars

@@THUGPUTIN Bro magnite NA Engine sucks, poor NVH levels and there's no concept of power or pickup in it.. Apart from the safety and space, Maruti is just better in every aspect, like their engines, after sales, etc.

I have Swift 2023 (4 cylinder petrol). 7400kms driven. Getting 24 to 25 kmpl on highways with AC on and 16 to 17kmpl in City. Without AC, 31kmpl on highways and 18 to 19 kmpl in City.

I honestly thought it would be at least 3-4 km/l more, with all that downsized engine and lighter body and stuff. The hype was crazy around the mileage. It's hard to now to justify the cost (well that goes for most cars now days 😂).

If you say the Swift is a down grade performance wise what would you say of the Honda City 1st gen that had 100 and 90 bhp and the next to come Dolphin City 2nd gen had only 77 bhp? 🤣 And that also was a hit in the market.

Don't say fun to drive this tin cans. There is no initial punch now a days for swift cars. After 100 speed the steering will shake and car is bouncy. You will not feel confidence.

AMTs are cheap and reliable. That matters. DCT broke in Indian traffic conditions due to heat and is very very costly to repair or replace.. I myself may not buy AMT and go for DCT.. But just saying. Not everyone is an enthusiast. Most people just want to go from point A to point B easily. And want a reliable vehicle. For Indians 4-wheeler vehicles are more of aspirational items and less utility value. And not like mobile with utility value. Slowly it will as the country develop and per capita incomes rises...

It is easy to compare with western countries cars. But for them car is a 4-6 months of income purchase. But for India it's a 3-4 years of income purchase. That is why what's entry level for them is premium for us..
