Available with an all new 3.3 litre turbocharged in-line six, the Mazda CX-90 is the new third row beauty from Mazda. It's big, its wide, and it powerful. Pricing isn't announced yet, but James and Thomas get to grips with a stationary example in the new Artisan Red.

I love how this interior looks classy and elegant but so distinctly Japanese, it reminds me a lot of James' Toyota Century were it is still a luxury car, but the interior is wool, cloth and wood 🤔 This is not the same luxury as like a BMW or a Mercedes, this is Japanese Luxury 🤔 And I like that simplicity a lot ❤️

I can only agree with the colour comments - it was literally the first thing that struck me, including how the colour changed with the light angle. That said, it really needs protection to stay that nice. Also, thank God Mazda did not go for the lakes of piano gloss fingerprint magnets like Mercedes did (Audi too, but at least less). It'll stay clean longer (well, OK, the white fabric may stain 😀)

@@vincentvanderbilt5598 It depends on the exact model/ where you bought it. I think all CX-30s sold in the US are made in Mexico. You can check that with the VIN number of the car. I bought mine here in Switzerland and it was made in Hiroshima, Japan. :) That being said, the factory in Mexico was just strategically placed for location reasons to easier reach the US and Latin markets. You can check out the factories in Salamanca Mexico, they are literally as if the factory in Hiroshima was copied and pasted there, and they are run the same way by Mazda themselves - I doubt there is any difference, it's really just for location. Yes, hurry up and make a sports sedan/hatch with this engine. The current Mazda3 turbo is like a Mazdspeed Protege w/AWD. We need something that resembles the performance of a Mazdaspeed3 w/AWD. Just throw that 323hp 4cyl PHEV in the Mazda3 w/AWD, and you a have a winner. Even Toyota and Hyundai has blown past Mazda. Very sad. I know how slow the Mazda3 turbo is compared to a Mazdaspeed3 because I've owned 4 1st gen Mazdaspeed3s. Most reliable car I've ever owned (I've owned a dozen toyotas and Hondas also). Completely stock, and Mazda3 turbos like to pull beside me and try to race. I let them take the hit, then I fly past them like they are standing still. Ridiculous. So slow. The Mazdaspeed3 puts down 50hp more on a dyno, and weighs 250lbs less. No comparison. It literally needs 75hp more to compete, and that 323hp PHEV 4cyl is the perfect match!

Inline-6 turbocharged engine will be powerful and smooth perfectly balanced layout. Inline-6 engines produce a very distinctive engine induction & exhaust sound a smooth musical note music to the drivers ears. Its been decades 20 years ago since Japanese automakers Toyota & Nissan made their last 2JZ and RB inline-6 engines. This is Mazda gift for all of us a new inline straight 6 combustion engine to enjoy and embrace aging for the very last time before everything becomes all electrification. Thank you Mazda for caring and making the effort to bring back a inline-6 engine from Japan. The wait is finally over, Mazda turn a dream into a reality.

This car looks much better than any Lexus, Infinity or Acura SUV from the interior. Mercedes, Audi and BMW had a little advantage in the technology department. On the exterior side the cx90 looks way better than the others. The power of the engine and the driving dynamics needs to be confirm after the driving review. A big step in the right direction for the aspiration of Mazda to compete with the premium brands.

@@ktakashismith The sports youtube channel I watch didn't post a video about it, nor did the whiskey channel or the theme park channels or the tech channels. Maybe I'm not subscribed to "everybody", so Throttle House was the first to show me this new car. Thank you for the name calling though. It says a lot about you as a person.
@ktakashismith
@ktakashismith Жыл бұрын
@@BradWilson1969 You're most welcome, although I did not call you a name, I simply asked if you were daft. But considering your surprise that between the whiskey, theme park, and technology channels you subscribe to, the car review channel was the first to break news to you about...a car, I don't have to ask the question twice. There are very few, if any, "exclusive first looks" on KZfaq. If a new product by a major corporation is going to be released and they want to generate interest for it, they fly out KZfaqrs and show them the product with presentations, walkarounds, demos, and then allow them to make a video about the new product and their experience at the press event. The creators are allowed to shoot and edit the video, but they're prohibited to release the content until a certain date and time (i.e. the video is embargoed). This is beneficial for both the brand and the content creators, because they have an agreement that every content creator that attended the event will post their "exclusive first look" on the day the embargo lifts, so all of a sudden a new product will be flooded across all of the car review/photographer/tech KZfaq channels at the same time. "Look babe, new Mazda CX-90 is on the trending page". So basically, it's not like ThrottleHouse is doing you or anyone a personal favor by going to a Mazda press event and making a video, and more like they're just advertising a vehicle to you on behalf of Mazda.

I'm so glad you mentioned the paint chips with soul red. I had a soul red CX5 - amazing color...but soooo many chips! Are all their colors thin or just the red, because that was really dissappointing and a reason I sold it (that and Mazda's uncomfortable seats) ! And I'm considering the CX90....but not if its going to be chipped in a few years.

Do any of you four in here know what longitudinal engine means? Edit: I'm just going to quickly explain the two major impossibilities. Inline-6's are never transverse style; they can't fit when combined with a transaxle. And Mazda doesn't have a transmission for this engine in transverse/latitudinal form, which is again an impossible form for this engine in the first place.
@bigmacdaddy1234

This is written with tons of love and respect for what you've done in your space. Sorry guys, this is subpar to the standard that you both have established for Extra Throttle House. CX70.... maybe.... whatever they called the stitching during the presentation.... I thought you would have put more focus into a car company that is trying to punch above its weight class like you do in your space.

In Germany a fully loaded CX-60 costs (excluding taxes) 56k USD and a base X3 with a comparable powertrain costs 60k USD. The Mazda is bigger and the BMW has basically no features for that price. Looks good.
