Why is everyone having a hard time wrapping their heads around Craig’s list not being an actual MOCK DRAFT 🤦🏼‍♂️😂… He doesn’t have Helenius going third overall he has Helenius being the 3rd best forward in the draft in 3-4 years I still don’t agree with that, but he’s not making a list on where players will go he’s making a list on the best players from the draft in 3-4 years when they are developed…

Idk, I still think the top 11 will be the top 6 dmen and celebrini, demidov, Helenius, lindstrom, and Iginla. Teams prioritize 1Cs and top pairing dmen.

If they do, look for Kyle Davidson/Chicago Blackhawks to be the trade partner with the NJ Devils. I am guessing KD wants to move up into the 10-12 range and draft either RHD Carter Yakemchuk or Cole Eiserman, if he slips down to No. 10.

I can't see NJ passing on Silayev if he's on the board for them, he'd be the perfect partner for Hughes. They could have a top 4 of Silayev/Hughes and Bahl/Nemec for 10+ years with two 6'7" DFD and two elite puck moving Dman.

I have zero issues here. Good size, smart player, does the little things well and plays in all situations on an awful team.

He’s slow, a big slug. He has skill but his speed is going to hurt defensively really really bad in todays fast paced game. I don’t see anyway GMKA would draft him over a dman with top pair potential.

If Iginla is available at 7, look for Calgary and Ottawa to swap picks(Calgary 9). Going to Calgary, a defenseman, Forsberg and going to Ottawa is Weeger and Markstrom. Ottawa obviously needs a righty "D" but they need help now and can't wait to try to develop a D man. If that can be achieved by trading for Weeger, then they have the option of drafting the best player that they think is available. The key is that obviously Calgary really wants Iginla

IF Chicago does pick Demidov do the Ducks swap with the Canadians so the Habs can secure Lindstrom and the Ducks pick Levshunov or Silayev. What would the price be for the Habs to do that?

If Anaheim would do that, it's cause they're not leaning towards Lindstrom, therefore they don't have tremendous leverage. Struble + 3rd rnd pick

@@mateway5907 That's just it. Right now it is all assumptions, but Verbeek rarely shows his cards and has no problem going against popular opinion. Lindstrom may very well be on his radar and not one Ducks fan would complain if they took him. He is the type of forward Verbeek likes having. Big, physical, good skater with a strong two way game and a good amount of offensive upside. It really depends on how Chicago picks and who Columbus is likely to grab but the Ducks may have more leverage than most think. Personally I think the use their third pick but you never know.

Anaheim should trade that Edmonton 1st and their 2nd up to maybe get in the top 20, 15 max but I want Eiserman bad and if they get Maxim at #3 too damn

@@beavismcquevis5 A lot of ways this could go. The thing is even if they traded their late first and early second pick and had the opportunity to draft Eiserman I am not sure Verbeek takes him. Verbeek wants as few as possible defensive liabilities at the forward position. Eiserman is a work in progress that may never find a solid two way game. He does have a high offensive upside though and will probably be taken from 10 to 15. If the ducks wanted to get in that group of picks they would have to trade those two draft picks and a decent prospect. Not sure they pay that price for a prospect that will take a couple of years to develop. We'll see.

There’s no way Buffalo is drafting Greentree with all those dman still available. Especially Greentree. He’s slow, opposite of what the Sabres have been drafting.

I’ve asked this question so many times and I never quite get a straight answer… Why does the NHL draft so young? It seems like it’s such a crap shoot trying to project out how these 16-17 year olds are gonna develop, not to mention it’s such a long wait for fans…why not wait until guys “intend to play in the NHL” the following season? Wait till they’re 19, 20, 21 with some professional hockey under their belt? There could always be exceptions, like how there are in juniors with kids being granted an exceptional status…guys like Bedard, McDavid, Crosby, Kane etc..but other than that, wait a few years so it’s not such a coin flip?

Because just like baseball, you draft to develop the players! This way you get to work with them through these few years and yes it’s a crapshoot and that’s why kids drafted in later rounds have a chance unlike basketball and football

Columbus won’t take Iginla… They will take Lindstrom or Helenius in my opinion, Iginla is not a natural Center he will be a winger at the NHL level… CBJ really needs a C they tried Laine down the middle and I believe they look at Johnson and Sillinger as wingers so it’s either Lindstrom, Helenius… some people will say Helenius is a reach at 4 but in my opinion his floor is a second line C but his upside is not that high he’s a safe bet to be an NHL player and a good one… I think Iginla will go to the Habs if Demidov is gone and the Hawks don’t take Levshunov I believe the Habs may even draft Iginla over Lindstrom… Iginla in my opinion has First line winger upside not as a play driver but a very good complementary player on a first line, He’s gonna be better than lots of people think….

Great fun with the mock draft Mike!!!! Re: Iginla: as Brady Tkachuk has once again demonstrated, pedigree is worth serious consideration. Iginla will be a top 10 pick. Re: Habs picking at #5: I was thinking of Lindstrom too BUT if there's a top flight winger available at #5 I'm leaning towards going for a scoring winger. Habs could pull off a blockbuster trade with the #5 pick and one of their young "D".

At six feet tall, decent speed and skating, and the BEST scorer in the draft, how is Eiserman getting so much hate from "experts?" He's seventeen for Christ sakes. You mean to tell me "experts" can forsee his failure to improve in his deficiencies? Big mistake passing him up.

Could not agree with you more. You can teach defense but you cannot teach the elite offensive and scoring skills Eiserman has. A high-end goal scorer is always at a premium in the NHL

Disagree. Demidov is a natural fit at wing alongside Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks desperately need offense and a pro-level power play, much more so than defenders. Their prospect pool is already top-heavy with defense.

Button never said Helenius would go 3. You guys are all misinterpteting his list. He didnt do a mock DRAFT, He did a futur projection list. He thinks that in 5 years, Helenius will be a #1 Center and that hell be one of the best player from this draft. Theres a big difference between a mock draft and a projection list.

As a sharks fan.... I'm totally fine with your #14 pick. We've got the forwards, we need to shore up our defense. I'll be at the draft event and know the sharks fans are gonna go crazy if that's who we get at #14 (the consensus with the fans is that we'll have to trade a few picks to get a d-man at 10/11)

Calgary 9th pick, Anderson to Columbus for the 4th and a 3rd round pick or 4th and that goalie Mez for the salary dump. With Markstrom being traded shortly after

@@jfhoude81 ye but that’s too high of a price to trade anderson and 9th for the 4th. Anderson will likely not be traded and flames are looking to retool not rebuild completely. If they can get catton or helenius then it could speed up the retool much quicker then iginla. And Iginla is not needed on the flames. Flames need creativity and rush play, they need some elite talent that will hopefully show up each game.

@@cartermiedema9114 you got to think the needs of Columbus and they need a Defense man, Anderson will not be in the age group for the Flames when his contact is up to lock him up long term as Weager is already locked in to a long term contract as he would also be the Captain when Backs contract is up. It's all about asset management. To be fair I'm a Flames fan and I'm probably over valuing Anderson cause I think that still won't be enough to land that 4th pick

Levshunov is over rated. He is not a top 2 D. Demetov has one year left on his Russian contract. Personally I would not be mad if the Hawks reach and took Iginla. Sure thing and no Russian drama of a possible reup.
