My 19’ Vc-Turbo (6 years old in august) 63k miles currently and no major issues. 12k miles the washer fluid sensor went bad (replaced under bumper-bumper). Last week my rear left side marker went out and I replaced it in 5 mins! I’m glad it wasn’t led because I’d have to buy a whole assembly.

I love my 2023 Nissan Kicks SR top trim with the Added Premium Package. Its a great little CUV and super feature packed. It gets great MPG, has tons a passenger room with great head and leg room, huge cargo area, and man does it have the features! Wow! In the top trim SR with the $1,390.00 Premium Package it is loaded for such a small car and comes in around $26,000.00. It has things like rear parking sensors, 360 surround view cameras with adjustable views, rear automatic emergency braking (rare in vehicles under $40K) for parking and works like a charm, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, 8 speaker Bose audio system with 2 neat speakers built into the drivers seat headrest, 8 inch audio touch screen, 7 inch half digital gauge cluster screen that does all kind of things, led headlights, led tail lights, led fog lights, 17 inch alloy wheels, push button start, remote start with intelligent climate control that heats or cools the car and even heats your seats and steering wheel and it bases what it does on the outside temp, auto digital climate control, auto up down driver and front passenger windows, Nissan Connect Telematics, super sharp Primatex synthetic leather seats that are light gray and charcoal with orange accent stitching, primatex dash pad, rear seat occupancy alert reminder and so much more. This thing is loaded for under $26,000.00 with features reserved for more expensive vehicles. I absolutely love its 8 speaker Bose personal audio system it sounds amazing and looks cool too with the driver seat headrests. My other favorite feature is the 360 surround view camera system with multiple views makes parking a snap too. Sure its not HD quality but it works amazingly. I just love everything about my Kicks. I actually drove a 2024 Nissan Altima SR AWD with Premium Package with the naturally aspirated 2.5L 4 cylinder and I really liked it but I did not really want to spend over $30,000.00 and it was $34,000.00 plus the Altima I drove was missing a heated steering wheel, missing the 360 surround view camera system, and was missing the Bose Audio System. Sure the Altima had a sunroof (I never used it in my Eclipse Cross), power driver seat (I adjust my seat once and it stays there) and larger touch screen but for the features the Kicks had and comparing the 2 I preferred the Kicks by far and for $8,000.00 more I don’t think the Altima was worth that over a loaded top trim Kicks SR Premium. I also liked the Primatex leatherette in the Kicks better than I did the leatherette in the Altima, especially the color. The Kicks is a pretty cement like gray and black leatherette with orange stitching where the Altima was all black. Now I will say the Altima was huge I mean huge and had a ton of room and felt like a nice substantial vehicle. As for the front seats, I am just shy of 6 foot and the seats in the Kicks were 100 times better for me and provided way better leg support and had a longer bottom cushion than the Altima. The Altima has a very short bottom cushion and my legs are long and I was knees up no matter how I adjusted the seat. You can see this in a lot of review videos with the drivers legs and looking at pics of how small the cushion is in the Altima. In the Kicks it supports my legs soooo much better and the seats in my Kicks are the best in any car I have owned for my body type (5’11” and 165 lbs) and I trade in and purchase new every 2-3 years. Now sure I see reviews saying the Kicks seats are uncomfortable but not for me, to me they are amazing. But anyway the Altima is a very nice vehcile and really all Nissans are. Plus Nissan is really pumping out updated and new models in the next couple years like an all new awesome Kicks this summer and there will be an all new Murano soon and the Rogue just got a ton of updates. The Sentra had some minor updates. Even the small Versa was updated recently and you can get a loaded Nissan Versa SR with a ton of features for $22,000.00 its insane and most reviewers love it and will tell you the same on their videos. So over all Nissan is moving in the right direction and their CVTs have drastically improved. I have owned 7 Jatco produced CVTs now and have never had any issues. A big key is maintaining them and with these new Nissans if you do the recommended transmission fluid flushes every 3 years or 30,000 miles you should be good. The Altima and Versa are rumored to definitely be discontinued around the 2025 year.

I think the bit about being spoiled by fast cars is entirely true, because honestly the Volvo 850 that i daily hits 60 in 10 seconds, and for daily driving, that's perfectly fine. A lot of people today are forgetting that 25 years ago, 6-7 seconds from 0-60 was what decently high spec variants of the BMW and Mercedes cars at the time did, and you would have to buy actual M and AMG cars respectively to really get under 6 seconds at the time. The Ferraries at the time had less than 500 hp. There was no 320 hp Civic Type R. There was no 330 hp Golf R. There was no 380 hp Mercedes A class. There was no 700 hp Hellcat.

My company has a 21 Altima SR and the first thing I noticed is how the steering is extremely light when parked and extremely heavy when driving and it took a while to get used to it but it's a great commuter that's pretty efficient and also peppy enough to pass someone without struggling. Also, the paddle shifters are fun to play around with at low speeds because the throttle response is actually violent at "1st gear"

I share a 2019 Altima with my brother. I’m looking for something maybe slightly more exciting for myself soon, (think civic or Impreza with a stick, nothing crazy) but I have no real complaints with the Altima. It’s very comfortable, quick enough, gets great fuel economy, and all of the seats are spacious enough for an adult. I will say though, I have definitely experienced the lugging/vibration problem, it gets very very annoying when the CVT tries to keep revs under 2k when mildly accelerating. Other than that a solid commuter for sure.

This isn't Nissan specific but i really wish they had a way to make the infotainment screen fit into the dash rather than stick up like a tablet stuck on, since there's a lot of unused dash space behind it. Maybe put a storage compartment behind the screen and have the screen flip down like a glovebox door to access the compartment. (And it can have wireless charging pad inside for a phone since the phone is unnecessary when it's connected to the infotainment screen) Or if they really want the screen to be tablet style, having it swiveling so it can be angled more towards the driver or having it temporary removable like a regular tablet would be neat to me. Can make it easier to type on the screen.

We had a Altima rental in Maui and I expected to hate it based on my prior cvt experience. I ended up really appreciating the car. It was easy to use, had a lot of interior space (even behind my 6-3 husband) and the cvt was smooth for the constant steep elevation changes. We subsequently had a Jetta replacement and I hated that car in comparison. It was cramped and the auto transmission had was constantly jerking and shifting on the steep hills. And the car felt like it was fallling apart.

I have a 2023 Altima SL with FWD and the 2.5L. I’ve had it since August of 23. I really like the car and only payed around $31-32k for it. I was very skeptical about the CVT as I’ve only ever driven regular autos and manuals, however, it has done a decent job and have no major gripes. My only issue with it is that at cruising in town speeds, I can feel VERY little inputs on the gas pedal. It seems to be very sensitive, but I notice it seldomly. The cameras are most definitely atrocious and it sucks using them especially at night because the brake lights wash the quality out majorly. I can see 5x better if I turn off my lights when reversing 💀 The toggleable “steering assist” feature that was not shown in this video sucks. It basically fights with you to stay in the lane and also screams at you, after 10-15 seconds of not putting enough pressure on the steering wheel, to put your hands back on the wheel. I find it much better to just keep it off so I can lightly grasp it and actually stay stationary in the lane. However, the Bose system is fantastic, and the infotainment system is almost flawless (sometimes it doesn’t wanna connect wireless CarPlay automatically and then won’t connect when I manually do it). The seats are also probably the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in (that’s including out of other seating not in automobiles). I think Nissan overall did a decent job with this generation Altima.

I've driven a couple of rental Altimas of this generation, and I honestly like them. Is it for me? Eh, maybe only if I suddenly needed to commute 50 miles a day and needed a dedicated commuter, I'd put the Altima on my list of commuter cars. But, anyway, I really love how easy the car is to live with - everything in the interior makes sense. Nothing gimmicky in the slightest. And I agree with Tedward, the steering is unnatural - it's light and overboosted, but thankfully I got used to it after a couple drives.

I got the 2019 SL. Overall, excellent car especially for the money. It's a freeway killer, adaptive cruise is totally useable and it's VERY quiet and spacious. The tech is just good enough. It does 40mpg on highway and takes 87 octane. Power is more than acceptable and you know this 2.5 liter motor is going to last forever. I've never been in a situation, even with 4 adults and camping gear doing 80mph up the Cajon pass, where mashing the gas didn't take care of business. Most of the time it's sitting at 2000rpm on the highway.

@@raider4394 All CVT's kind of feel bad to drive but this one has a particular issue that is semi bouncey on low speed take offs. I have been playing with tire pressures a lot to smooth it out. I'm not running OEM tires either so I'm not sure how much that matters. But I am 38psi the mnfr recommends 33psi. Down low at 33 the car tends to surge a little bit. If you are in constant stop and go highway traffic or inner city traffic this might not be the best car for you.

@@drewmorg. I was more wondering if they’d made them better since the 2016 Sentra I had, since its CVT was trash (and also blew up at 147k) and made an already miserable car worse. My current car isn’t like, a dream car, but not having a CVT makes me like it more

@@raider4394 I know man... I would say this CVT is the worst CVT I've experienced. Even compared to my 2008 Prius and other Prius's I've driven. It's not exactly a deal breaker considering the whole package but yeah they could have done a better job. I want to be clear, I don't even hate CVT's in general but this one is just a little bouncy at low speeds and you learn to drive around it. At 15mph+ though you never will have any issues with it.

@@drewmorg. The only part of the CVT i liked was being on a major expressway and it being pegged at 4-5,000rpms the entire time (lots of slowing down and accelerating because of the city I lived in) it at least stayed in the power band. My Malibu is so intent on putting itself in the highest gear it can that it doesn’t hold gears during harsher driving, drives me nuts

I had a 2022 Nissan Altima SR with the same drivetrain as a rental. Its not fast or slow, but the interior and infotainment is outdated. The 2.5 is undefined and feels like it produces 142hp like the 2.0 in the Sentra. My last dislike is the CVT is very jerky.

@@haroldbeauchamp3770 No, there's not.. there's no such thing, even the crown vics were parts swapped.. and they were heavy duty police packaged vehicles.. transmission coolers, cop suspension.. etc.. A few years ago my family had an Altima as a rental car going to Canada, went through Montreal and stopped in Boston for the night. As we approached our hotel, the CVT began to slip and started smelling plastic. That scared us because we could have been stranded in Boston, thankfully we returned home (in the mid-atlantic region) safely. Wouldn't want to be in a Nissan again.

You base your opinion of a manufacturer on ONE experience of ONE rental car, with an unknown history? So, when you find a vehicle manufacturer that has a perfect reliability record, you'll be happy to recommend them? Cars break down, they are complicated machines, and things can go wrong, no matter how much you pay for a car.

@@another3997Even if they have a perfect reliability, it does not mean I would recommend them. This car is definitely not impossibly slow, my 2015 Outbacks 0-60 is like 10-13 seconds (depending on load and people) and it sucks but it doesn't really affect me during daily driving, you can do your daily commute at 80mph and never even have to go close to flooring it. Plus can still get up to 125mph (after about a year). People I think have become very desensitized to speed now a days.

Is it only me who to feel like the interieur design is inspired by the F10 BMW? On lowe quality level and finish maybe but the concept is pretty similar. Starting from the left arm rest and the power windows, the assistant buttons left to the steering wheel, the button layout on the steering wheel, the dashboard layout... maybe the center console even looks a bit more G30.

Can you turn off the fake shifting? I hate that shit! I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra from my parents (emphasizing that I did not willingly buy a Nissan Sentra) and I actually don't mind the CVT knowing how it works, and the fake shifting seems inefficient -- I'd really rather have it dynamically shift while keeping revs about the same or even dropping as it gets closer to overdrive. My Sentra doesn't do the fake shifting and is quite economical, in terms of engine revs.
