On this episode of Chargers Weekly, Chris Hayre and Matt “Money” Smith recap the latest news involving LA and the entire NFL. Breaking down the 2024 offseason while looking ahead to Training Camp, the hosts answer fan questions about Trey Pipkins III’s fit at right guard, which 2023 draft pick will see the biggest jump in his second year, and expectations for the edge group led by Khalil Mack, Bud Dupree, Joey Bosa, & Tuli Tuipulotu. The wide-ranging Q&A also covers Derwin James Jr.’s usage in Jesse Minter’s defense and why Justin Herbert’s offense has such a high floor in 2024.

I grew up a patriots fan but that week 18 game against the raiders is what ultimately made me a Herbert fan and now a chargers fan. It was unreal to watch live

I'm actually okay with the loss in Jacksonville and the horrible season last year because it brought us what we have now which is a million times better than the Chargers of ever had

Nope! Haven’t forgot how much of a bitch he was the final two years or how he tried to steal credit for a season he didn’t play with the rams and his bullshit airing dirty laundry afterwords. Have heard from others in SD community that he’s a major prick of a coach too. Fuck Eric Weddle. Only charger jersey I’ve ever burned

Given the changes to the kickoff rules, I imagine they keep Davis on the active roster. I see our WR room being McConkey, Palmer, Johnston, Chark, Davis and Rice. It’s gonna be interesting to see how it all comes together.

@@jimmyflanagan5938The hype was from free agency spending, Khalil Mack, JC Jackson etc. and the presumption that Staley finally had the talent to run his defense. Last year it was Kellen Moore fixing the offense, the run game in particular. It's been bandaids, new coaches, new players etc. This is a total organizational shift. New GM and a coach with a proven track record

#Bullmoose Fans overreact to Ekeler. Dudes a Chargers great and I’m so glad he was on our team. I don’t think he’s said anything that’s bad. Fans claim he’s insulted Herbert but he never did. Dude put his body on the line constantly and never had anyone backing him up who could give him a breather, plus the tight ends couldn’t block at all. Love Austin. Chris Harris is kind of an ass. All he did was throw tantrums on the field whenever he didn’t make a play. Dude can keep Herbert’s name out of his mouth. Great clarification and insight on my question Money! Appreciate it!

It was said that herbo was the ta and helped teach what was supposed to be the hardest science class on campus. If it aas not the hardest science class it was the hardest bio class at a school known for sciences. Itd be interesting to hear the differences in difficulty from justins POV between learnjng a new offense every year and that science class and if he actually did teach

Eric Weddle had some good years early in his career but became a bitter malcontent as his career progressed. Just like a lot of other players they want a lot of $ as they're aging.Jim Harbaugh wouldn't put up with him at all.I vividly remember him being a cancer to the team.Keenan Allen was a great player but look where his me first attitude got him.I pay no attention to the media and pro bowls (popularity contests).I actually watch the games.Good riddance Eric Weddle!
