"Awarded to an individual with a stellar record of educational service, our Leader in Education Award winner is a lifelong resident in Pensacola and has served for the last 20 years as a teacher, scholar, and administrative leader in education.
In every position our winner has held, she has focused on improving the talent pipeline from our K-12 educational institutions through undergraduate and graduate programs available in order to meet the needs of our area employers.
As the Director of the Kugelman Honors Program at University of West Florida, our Leader in Education created the Kugelman Honors Summer Institute for Rising High School Juniors in the summer of 2022. It was such a success that the program was expanded for summer 2023.
She has also developed community partnerships to provide internships for businesses and nonprofit organizations in the area. Developing standing internships with Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, the IHMC, Health and Hope Clinic, Inc, and Guided Particle Systems.
