Hey Drake, Thank you for videos, I did the sound barrier with with RezoNix product's and had some awesome results with me and the wife’s thoughts! My going copy paste from the Xpedition forum what I did!!! Polaris should take note lol….So I finally finished up with the rear floor and fire wall on the XP5 and feel that I really made a good improvement on the engine noise! So here’s what I used, First. Killmat and Rezonix pro CLD squares first layer, Second. I replaced the felt liner and installed RezoNix lead sound barrier cut to size of the felt liner and bolted to the fire wall like the felt liner was. Third. Cut RezoNix fiber mat 45 to the size of felt liner but just straight across at the bottom and install over the sound barrier. Installed upper back set (it was a tight fit). Installed some more RezoNix pro CLD squares on parts of the lower sections back area walls and installed lower half of the seat. Installed Dynadeck on the rear floor. The wife and I jumped in went out for the test. Didn’t take us long at all both of us said that’s definitely an improvement! I didn’t have any prior measurements but I used my phone for a db reading and saw 78 to 80 db at WOT approximately 8100 rpms (Not sure on accuracy on phone app?) WOW I said that pretty damn good lol… So we both think that it was definitely an improvement over just the kilmat and the factory felt liner by far. I believe I can live with the noise levels now easily. :) I really think that the lead sound barrier and the fiber mat 45 really provided the biggest difference! Update on noise levels… Cruising speed is about around 70 db at average at 30 to 35 mph. Still was around 78 to 80 db wot… Take note Polaris you could fix this without a clutch modification just use the right materials! That’s my 2 cents worth!! I’m happy 😁
@americandream_894 ай бұрын
Thank you much for the input. Everyone is looking for a fix. Sounds like this worked well. At that RPM your sound decibel is far below what mine is. I’m hopefully Polaris will come out with like minded kit for these. I don’t think that clutch kit is what people want.

Thank you for the dbs test. And yes I get when it comes to street vs off-road driving. I did take a defender and a ranger for a ride and there’s a little different sound coming from the defender.( a little quieter) It my also have something to do with the design of the engines. Thanks again for taking the time to share.
@americandream_899 ай бұрын
No problem really glad to help people. I truly think the defender cab is quieter because unlike the Ranger, it doesn’t have any holes. Whereas under the rear seat in the ranger, it has a big hole to change the oil filter.

In fact any stereo in a SXS is a waist unless you are sitting idle. I now wear a Bose noise canceling headset. Point is they’re way way to loud and and newbies like I was don’t know that.

Nice machine brother got a question where would you mount fishing pole holders or gun racks?
@americandream_899 ай бұрын
For fishing gear they make all kinds of attachments for the rail system in the bed. Along with chainsaw and other tool holders. For the gun racks most people do gun mounts on the bottom of the seats in rear. So when you flip the seat up in the rear it has the mount attached.

I may just wait a while longer seeing the noise. I wonder if gilloman will have a tune for the high RPM the machine turns. Thats a huge cause of noise and it doesnt need to be hitting over 8k at 55-60mph. I cant leave anything stock so now i wanna check gillomen tunes lol. Nice Ride

Hey drake like the videos just wondering if u can make one about what you do trading machines what works the best for you and what cost least over time. I see you move machines a lot, do you sell them outright or trade that at the dealer? Just wondering yours take on it. Thanks!
@americandream_899 ай бұрын
I’ll try and think of a good way to display my work on buy sell and trades. I never trade to the dealership it’s a losing game. One thing important that I’ve tried to stress to people is never buy a machine with crazy fees. I also never finance my machines I pay cash. The moment you buy a machine your upside down majority of the time. Adding extra cost like fees makes you upside down even more.
@joshtanksley1259 ай бұрын
How do you avoid the fees?
@americandream_899 ай бұрын
@@joshtanksley125 I simply ask the dealership up front if they have fees. Then if they do I tell them I’m not paying them. If they want my business they will remove them since they are made up anyway. Any dealer that charges freight is a scam. Go watch the previous two videos of me telling you what to watch in the dealership. Then go to the comments and look at dealers trying to justify made up stuff

They put plexiglass on the bottom, so if you have something in the bed that is sliding around, it doesn't hit it, and crack the glass.

I think the reasoning behind the plexi glass on the bottom is incase you load something in the bed, it won't break the glass if it hits the front there. That's the only thing that would make sense to me.

If you had to choose defender max limited or xpedition xp 5 what would it be? Strictly tail riding 15-35 mph, Young kids, wood trails/ old logging roads. Use machine year round.

So many factors go into that. How many kids? Are you riding hard-core trails?

@@madrev21 for me also having younger kids it’s 10 times harder to tend to them in the xpedition. It’s also 10,000 more dollars. Very nice machine and great review, but for the price these utv manufactures need to step up the game on sound deadening materials and heat shielding, Using a new defender limited for work, ac will not keep up and the noise is ridiculous, the amount of body flex as well in the defender is pathetic as well, these look to be a lot better and stiffer. For the price of these units it should all be included as well.
