The Great North American Eclipse passed through Maine on April 8, 2024, and my husband, my sister-in-law and I headed north to the rural town of Patten to see it. We watched in awe as the paths of the sun and the moon (as seen from our location) converged for a brief moment in time.
This video shows the last minute or so of totality, and then about four minutes of the moon slowly moving out of the sun's way. My husband shot this video while holding a solar filter loosely over the lens of his camera.
