I was looking at a mazda CX50- but I'm beginning to lean toward this.. and I LOVE the darker blue.. looks like fun. (I'm getting past the rep of the weak boxer design and cvt crap-- which was just mental thing anyway- NEVER a fault of the car)...

Great review! I like the Wilderness a lot but for the Canadian market, the Limited trims and lower are made in Japan rather than US for the Wilderness. My US built Outback has several fit and finish issues that arose right after the warranty period so that’s why I am hesitant on another car from Subaru’s Indiana plant. Would the place of manufacture be a consideration for you when buying a car?

Greetings from oakville Ontario thanks for the presentation I'm not in the market for a new vehicle but I understand that the subaru ascent for 2025 will offer a hybrid engine like in the toyota crown platinum

Love it. Have always been a Subaru fan. Any thoughts though on why a company like Subaru which has marketed itself as environmentally friendly and promoted sustainability etc, has been such a slow mover in the hybrid and full ev space? Do they just not have the talent in the company?

They're partly owned by Toyota and are developing hybrid's based on Toyota's tech. A bit delayed from internal changes. Hybrid Subaru's have existed for years, but the system wasn't very good, hence switching to Toyota's. As for the EV portion, its the same story. Toyota's been quietly developing it's EV tech and is poised to make a big run on that market in 2026-2027 as their solid-state battery tech matures.

Rather than this wilderness, I would much rather have a Crosstrek WRX. It would be all the car I would ever need. Subaru has all the parts, just need to put them together and win bigly.
