i would like the 5 door if it was just me n the missus traveling around. more room with folding the rear seats down and side access to gear. but yea, the underpowered 1.5 is a turn off. zuk have done some decent motors over the years, they could have atleast thrown in a revised j20 or j24, even with a little turbo. i grew up with the LJ50's as my farm toy and loved the sierras but i have since moved to viratas as they have bigger engines and far more room and stability offroad.

Makes total sense for those trips with the missus. You're spot on about the potential for a bit more power with a revised j20 or j24 and a turbo. It's great that you found something that suits your needs with the Vitara, bigger engines and all for those adventures.
