The 2024 Topps Series 1 Checklist was just released, and we now know which rookies will be appearing in 2024 Series 1. This rookie class is deep, and there are a lot of great rookie cards to chase. It is impossible to predict if a player will be a future hall of famer at this age, but 2024 Topps series has so many great rookies that a lot of people will be speculating on quite a few players.

I think you blew past Ceddanne Rafaela too quickly, 108 minor league games in 2023 he hit 20 bombs, 36 steals, .302 avg .870 OPS, one of the few guys with legitimate 5 tool upside in this set

Found 2 hangers today while grocery shopping. Hit 9 of your top 15, including Elly and Domínguez. Also hit 2 numbered cards, Posey /89 and Longoria /2024. Hangers are probably best bang for your buck again, looking forward to your yearly video where you break them all down.

There are so many awesome rookies in this set that I want to collect. Problem is that it’s going to be overproduced beyond belief due to Elly being in this product plus even Jasson Dominguez. Really good checklist though.

Scottie, I have a show idea for Spitballin’ Cards. I previously suggested 2 show ideas. The 1st was a show that tracks eBay/auction houses sales to gauge baseball card popularity. The 2nd suggested a video discussion on Dylan Crews / Panini-exclusive cards in 2024 and beyond. The new topic (3rd idea) for the panel is a WHAT IF…. WHAT IF you had to spend $1 million on sport cards (and only sport cards), what would you buy / invest / speculate on with the $1 million? Why those cards / boxes / slabs / etc….? Is it Mantles or Jordans or Trouts? It is Topps Baseball 2011 or 2018? It is the Babe Ruth cards from Goudeys? The idea is to start at $1 million and start to subtract and when at $0, take a moment to check to see if those would be your true best investment / speculation cards. This would be a fun video because it incorporates daydreaming with a history lesson, some investing, some speculation, and it’s always fun to imagine.

@@RM-pg4js Paul Goldschmidt I’m sure is a name your familiar with was born in Wilmington Delaware the other players are Delino DeShields,John Mabry,Kevin Mench,and Ben Wiltbank which I trained with Ben Wiltbank he was an MLB scout as well and recommended me to a semi pro team I played on

Among Evan Carter, Adley Rutschman, Jasson Dominguez, Jackson Holiday, Paul Skenes, Gunnar Henderson, Junior Caminero, and Pete Crow Armstrong which are they ranking with the collectors. 2019-2024 which rookie inserts with these players will worth the most?

Endy is out for the year with an injury, HEnry Davis is replacing him behind the plate. Catcher is a position Davis has played all his life, to include the game before being called up. The Pirates called him, and they did what they always do, screw with prospects. They abandoned him in right field where he had no experience and let him struggle. He got two innings behind the plate. With Endy hurt, he will finally get his chance, I think he is a Piazza type talent with a better arm. When Endy comes back, he’ll be their regular first baseman.

@@David-fv7zg I saw him in AA last year. Had trouble receiving. Just like the scouting report said when he was drafted. Dude has a cannon and can crush the baseball. His glove is well below average.

Just collect what you want. Nothing anyone says makes any difference. Everybody said Wander Franco in 2022 and how's that working out? They also said last year was going to be the best rookie class. 2023 blasters are going for $12, Adley & Gunner RCs aren't going to be expensive any time soon.

Everyone is down on Davis, he only got a 2 for major league stats. If he scored an average of the group (6) he would be at the top of the list, with a score over 9. The Pirates screwed with him so much last season it really effected hit bat, Im stocking up on him, gonna be a breakout this year.

I know he's older and has had the injury bug, but why doesn't anyone talk about Royce Lewis? He's has around 50 games under his belt and has produced. Dude has like 5 grand slams in 50 some games and had 2 home runs in his first ever playoff game

@@Philmington Royce is definitely a short term play. His stuff isn't as cheap as one would think. Royce is 24 with 2.8 career WAR so he's got A LOT of work to do by the time he's 30 for a HOF career. I could see the Twins making a deep playoff run next year though

So Jordan Lawlar is in this, but he has no base cards, just inserts and autos. But he hasn’t had a rc card yet. Are these going to have the rookie logo? If not when the hell is he going to have a rookie card?

Jordan Lawlar's rookie card is in 2021 BOWMAN'S BEST. That set by HOBBY DEFINITION (that has been in effect for years) has the ONLY rookie cards of Lawlar, Henry Davis and many others INCLUDING Julio Rodriguez. However, the set doesn't meet the MLBPA criteria.

@@timmccray7507 he played last season at age 21 and the 77 games he had at triple AAA as a catcher he had an 834 ops. His MLB numbers were bad but oakland rushed him up

Maybe only 3 of theses rookies might be money makers besides that the hobby box once again is overpriced but I do wonder if JD was healthy and had that hype from 2020 if the hobby boxes would have been 150.

Jumbos were only $159. The real problem is Topps jacked tons of cards out of the boxes. They put 96 less cards in hobby boxes this year
