This is an instant class - better that their BMW, Mercedes, Audi counterparts in value, performance, styling and reliability - not to mention gas mileage. Unreal. Great job, Toyota. Absolute dream car.

I’ve been really impressed with what Toyota/Lexus has brought to the table over the last few years. They’ve definitely made an effort to modernize their lineup, a lot of their vehicles have come a very long way since they first launched. Including the highlander, the new Tundra and Sequoia, new Tacoma is gonna dominate its segment, the Prius has come a long way. The new Lexus’ look amazing the RX,GX,TX and LX.

@@yay842and Lexus is approaching Mercedes/Range Rover levels of luxury, those new Lexus’ are extremely luxurious. I have a Lexus GX 460, and the highlight of the car and every Lexus car is the ride quality. Every Lexus rides like an S Class Mercedes, I got into a friends Range Rover Sport and the ride was punishing compared to my GX.

This will be a giant seller if Toyota can make enough of them. Better quality and functionality than a Kia or Hyundai. Much better available fuel economy and better tech than a Pilot.

That color is gorgeous! Rivals Mazda's deeper red color. Speaking of Mazda, I'm assuming this is the new Mazda CX-90 rival? I think the Mazda definitely wins for interior design. The fact this is a Toyota would lead me to believe this would probably outlive the Mazda equivalent. The more tech they add will definitely complicate things in the long run. But only time will tell how well these will hold up. Seems like a great package but Toyota is definitely slacking on their interior design. They revised some things like the armrest area, like you mentioned. The interior looks very usable but the actual design is just bland. Some more color and maybe some better integration of center display would help.

Yeah I believe they only offer a 2nd row 60/40 bench seat on the low end model for some reason. That's a mistake.

My uncle has a Lexus sedan and he has put over 200,000 miles on it. The hybrid battery is still good. Knowing Toyota and Lexus, their hybrid battery’s will probably last forever 😂

Do you think about gas prices? Actively searching for the lowest price or fixate/worry about the total cost of a fill-up? If yes to any, then get the standard hybrid. If 'no' to all, then you can probably afford the MAX, or at least the performance will outweigh the fuel economy penalty in your mind.

@@mbenton6 I have concern about the reliability of cx90 phev considering how many hybrid Mazda had launched in US before, I think that number is 0, also I don’t think they’ve ever build an inline 6 before, so a lot of unknown

It's in the description. But the Hybrid Max powertrain is more about power than fuel efficiency. There's also a more basic hybrid powertrain which gets better MPG (243 HP and 34 MPG). That's not what this is for.

Excellent review. Very in depth. But I'm going to have to disagree with the so called luxury feel/luxury look of the interior. Toyotas have some of the most plain Jane/hideous interiors in the game. The exterior is fairly nice on the new grand highlander. But honestly they could've done so so so much better for materials on the inside and design wise. Especially for what they're charging.
