2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series GXL Double Cab.
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series GXL Double Cab is the latest addition to the iconic Land Cruiser lineup. Toyota has introduced several upgrades to this 4x4 range, including new styling, enhanced technology, and a second powertrain option. The upgraded model now features the 1GD 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This is a significant change from the previous 1VD-FTV 4.5-litre turbo-diesel V8 engine with a five-speed manual transmission. The Land Cruiser 70 Series is available in various configurations, including five-door Wagon, three-door Troop Carrier, and Single and Double-Cab Chassis.
Powertrain and Performance:
The 2024 Land Cruiser 70 Series GXL Double Cab is equipped with the new 2.8-litre four-cylinder engine, which has been proven in other Toyota 4x4 models. This powertrain delivers 150kW of power at 3400rpm and 500Nm of torque from 1600-2800rpm. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, providing a smooth and efficient driving experience. The Land Cruiser 70 Series maintains its strong towing capacity of 3500kg, making it suitable for heavy towing loads. Additionally, the 4.5-litre turbo-diesel V8 engine is still available in other variants of the Land Cruiser 70 Series.
The upgraded Land Cruiser 70 Series features refreshed exterior styling that pays homage to previous generations of Land Cruisers. The circular LED headlamps with manual leveling and Automatic High Beam replace the previous halogen headlamp cluster. The grille now sports a black mesh pattern with 'TOYOTA' lettering and a three-slot cooling vent inspired by the 75 Series Land Cruiser.
Inside the cabin of the Land Cruiser 70 Series has also received updates, including a new instrument cluster resembling the speedometer of the 40 Series and a 4.2-inch color multi-information display. The multimedia system now supports wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, enhancing connectivity and convenience.
While WorkMate and all Troop Carrier variants appear to retain the current LandCruiser 70 Series’ silver 16-inch alloy wheels, wagon and cab-chassis GX and GXL grades now score dark grey alloys and wheel arch flares.
#landcruiser 70 Series GXL variants across the board are now equipped with two USB-C ports (replacing the older 12-volt socket), while the wagon body style gains a reversing camera.
