Great video mate. Sounds really good 👍 I have a torqit twin 3.5 inch sitting in my garage waiting for my 79 to arrive. I bought it about a year ago at the 4wd show in Sydney for $2180 and now they sell for $3’000 can’t wait to put it on. Look forward to future vids mate cheers 🤙🏻

You could tell you were a little hesitant cutting the fuel lines in the beginning, and I don't blame you. 😁It does sound better than stock, and you can even hear a little bit of the blow off valve whistle. Kudos to you for doing the right thing and keeping it legal. Full respect. ✊ Good luck with your warranty claim.

Good stuff, I installed the GSL diff actuator protector after seeing your earlier vid, had no idea before that. Dont worry too much about the dpf, the previous hilux/prado dpf issues seemed to be with city cars not getting a good run, I had one I just sold a 2016 2.8 with 175,000kms and original dpf, plenty of country mileage per year probably helped, but Toyota did extend all dpfs to a 10 year warranty. Im heading for the Tanami in July be good run for my new 78. cheers

Hi mate , good vid thx I put a PPD dpf back exhaust on 2 years ago fortunately no fuel line relocation. It’s still going strong back don’t do the constant dirt u do 6 months ago I purchased the torqit module map . It’s sent to you and it does a factory read then u send data back thru a porthole along with your vehicles info exhaust tyres etc and they send you 3 tunes On the mind tune my clutch lasted 2/3 months started slipping on hills So went NPC 1300 . Love it now . I wouldn’t bother with Toyota. My brake rotors warped at 10k and they were an absolute nightmare to deal with. They did a shit fix and I’ve had them fixed finally elsewhere Btw torqit module map lets you revert back to factory settings within minutes which is why I went with it but if anything goes wrong I reckon Toyota will not be helpful anyway Cheers mate you live in a beautiful part of Aus

That's interesting mate, and my rotors are warped to I reckon. if I was after more power, it would have to be a proper dyno tune well within safe parameters. That's one of the first things I had changed on my 79. It was done by an exhaust specialist the mod being a 3inch dpf back exhaust with a 4 inch resonater. Was pleased with the sound, but a slight improvement in horsepower. Wish I'd had 4 inch all the way through, but the legalitys of it just wasn't worth it. Wish I'd had the rear axle width correction done instead of the Safari Armax package added.

Unfortunately, a New Toyota 79 can be a real money pit. Clutch, Exhaust, Diff Correction, Snorkel replacement, Speakers upgrades, Seats upgrade. Wheels and Tires .Then you need a tune and suspension upgrade, This depends on what you want for a tray or canopy. Despite all those, they are a very popular vehicle to purchase, with a long waiting list.
@OutbackOffroadNT3 ай бұрын
They can be mate, though it's up to the individual how far they want to go. Like I said in the video, who buys a 4wd and leaves it stock? Not a lot of people. I certainly won't be putting seats in it or a "diff correction" almost everything else you listed most people change in any 4wd.

If you want to keep your vehicle reliable and the warranty intact don’t modify it!! These cars are extremely capable stock it’s the stock Toyotas that last to 1,000,000kms not ones with big tyres, lifts, tunes, catch cans etc etc
@OutbackOffroadNT3 ай бұрын
I always say stock is best. However, obviously some things get modified eventually. Suspension being a big one, my standard gear is getting tired and the rear springs are sagged. I'm getting dust on the clean side of the air filter for example to, so thats going to have to change... I service every 5000km, that's what will get me to a million km's 😅😜
