The tachometer will flash at 6,500 rpm until the 1,000 km run-in period is over. It doesn't actually limit the engine speed, according to the owner's manual. I took the Speed 400 for a short test ride & am pretty strongly considering it as a first bike.

Nice, thanks for confirming that! I think it would be a nice first bike, you have comfort, decent power, nice handling. If you are not a speed hunter, it will do just fine. Plus it's got that retro style which you get to look cool with. 😁

I'm convinced. Been watching a lot of video about the bike both pros and cons. Even watched a docu like video wherein they took the bike into the highest peak that a vehicle can go to in the Himalayas. I already reserved a unit.

interesting choice by triumph to make it a single cyclinder for a 400cc bike.

It was mainly focused on the Indian Market. The bike is being made by Bajaj.

I don't think it was focused on the India market, the model is available is available across regions. The finish and quality of the bikes up close looks and feels good in line with the Triumph branding.

@@thesighbored 400cc is a huge market in India. Just look at the offerings they have in that CC range heck there is an Aprilia 457RS that is designed and manufactured in India and its a smashingly good looking well built bike. Indian manufacturers are fully capable of designing, producing a well furnished bike, Royal Enfields are an example of that. I first saw Triumph 400s when Zack and Sturgeon from Revzilla went to India and took these triumphs for a tour towards Himalaya.
