Just got back from the Triumph international launch in Valencia. The English manufacturers just came up with a new 400 series that we got to test in all sorts of conditions. We put the video up as soon as possible so you guys get the see the new motorcycles in action

excellent review - we need good bikes in this class, less is more for so many riders 😉

Nice Steve Sargent interview at 05:42. It was very interesting and makes your review stand out from all other reviews! My Scrambler 400 x is to arrive in two weeks from now here in Denmark, and I look forward to driving it and not only watching all the reviews I can find ;-)

@@leeinwis sorry about that - we use the same word "køre" for both motorcycle and car in Danish - like "fahren" in German ;-)

Excellent review; I would predict this class of motorcycle to become much more popular versus the current market populated mostly by heavy and expensive motorcycles, with many rivalling the cost of a car.

This was lacking as alternative on Triumph’s lineup of options, specifically if you’re a novice rider, it’s always preferable to start on a not so bulky and powerful bike like the more heavy and big engine alternative that Triumph could traditionally offer and because they are, costly wise, higher.

Good review and info. But do you feel any issues yet. Though the product is great. Here in India many owners are having issues like Stalling, RPM Fluctuations on idle, Alloy bend, Engine noise. I am facing engine noise which I noticed recently. And Brand here are not acknowledging it fully. Many people are helpless. I know its too soon for you to feel as pretty new rides.

For the launching price it was to be expected..it's less than a good eMTB.

Glad that someone mentioned this. Yes, we are starting to see reports of those same issues here in the states now. Dodgy throttle response, poor build quality, ride by wire issues, etc. Some people are saying that the bike is not up to Triumph quality. People can spin that however they want...but, but, but, it's built to a price point. Baloney, crap is crap. FWIW, I watch these reviews for entertainment purposes only. I don't trust most of these as the reviewers typically don't have the bikes long enough to actually do a thorough review or they just write fluff pieces so that no one gets offended and they can continue to borrow bikes to "review".

Great video! How was the engine heat on speed 400?
@Alsinsin

He said in the video that there was no heat at all. Reviews from India where the weather is pretty hot reported that they can feel a bit of heat in the city traffic but it was mild and highly manageable.

@Fernando90054 even for experienced riders. I had a few from 50cc to 1100cc. One thing to realise is that from a certain level of power you can only exploit par of the excess power less than 1% of the time, depending where you live and what you want to do. Something light with reasonable power is going to meet the needs of a lot of people. At that price, those little Triumph are really a call to get on a motorcycle and ride. That being said, to have another one for that 1% of the time is also nice. That could be a second hand, old school monster: a VMax, a GSXR,...

I agree either way with everything you’re saying. These little bikes can always make you lose your license 😅 But like everything in life, when you explore things to a point that you have nothing more to discover, you lose interest and start looking for the next best thing…it’s the human nature in action. When you swap too soon, you’ll always be saying that the bike was a dream bike and you often look back and miss that machine, maybe because you didn’t explored it to the full extent of experience it could offer. The bikes that I kept more time with me, are the ones that I didn’t explore or I couldn’t explore to their limits. That’s why I said that these little Triumphs are excellently suited for a beginner rider, but as you said there are other categories of reasons besides that to choose a ride like this and the situation that you referred is right on spot. Thanks for your reply, man 👍🏻 Cheers 🥂
