This Mock Interview based on an actual applicant's US naturalization interview experience and it addresses a few common asked questions such as expired passport, name change, traffic tickets, change of physical address and more.

👉*SUMMARY*
This mock interview is based on a viewer's actual citizenship interview experience during the pandemic.
We chose to share this example since she ran into some common issues that are helpful to review.
The applicant is female, has 2 children and recently divorced. She is requesting to change her name and she recently moved.
Lastly, this interview will also contain a same-day oath ceremony, so make sure to watch until the end!
There are two interview formats now.
One is through a plexiglass shield. Both of you and the Interviewer will be in the same room. This interview is based on this format.
The other option is through a virtual meeting. You will be alone in one room and the Officer will be in a separate room. The interview will be conducted through a computer or a tablet.

To the glory of God, I passed my interview today. I thank you for the videos I watched. It really helped. It was pretty easy. It took about 20 minutes. The officer was professional and nice. She started me with the reading and writing test using the tablet. My Reading test was: Which State has the most people? Writing test: California has the most people. Next was the civic test. I answered the first 6 questions. Q1. What does the constitution do? Q2. What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States? Q3. Who is the commander in chief of the military? Q4. What is the supreme law of the land? Q5. What happened at the constitutional convention? Q6. Who was the first president? The last part was reviewing my N-400 application. No definitions. To those who may be nervous, I say, relax, watch the videos, listen to the audios even if you are cooking, washing etc. Whoever is preparing for this interview, I tell you, with God's help, you will also succeed. I know you can make it. Yes, you can.

I just passed my naturalizations test am now a citizen on US . Waiting for my sworn in day. My experience was super easy I took less than 20 min . Questions asked Name one of the US territory How many supreme judges does high court have Name two US holidays Why did the Britain come to the US When do we celebrate Independence Day They did not ask any definitions Just waiting to be sworn in.

Pasted my citizenship interview today. Officer was friendly. Officer did ask and check my tax transcripts for last 4 years. First had the civics test: 1) Who is the father of our country; 2) what moment tried to end racial discrimination? 3) when is the last day you can send in federal income taxes? 4) what are the two major political parties in the United States? 5) we elect a US representative for how many years? 6) what is supreme law of the land? Reading: who elects Congress Writing: the people elect congress

@@electrology yes, he did ask all yes, no questions. but didn’t asked any definitions of the words. Before asking part 12 officer told me if I would not understand some words I can ask him, and he’ll explain. Interview was in Chicago

@@olenamoroz6657 Sorry to bother you but I have one more question. I submitted my N400 on 6.13.21. Interview scheduled update on my case on 2.10.22. Interview scheduled for 3.14.22. When I submitted on 6.13.21 the time to decide was 13 months. Then it started counting down. On 2.9.22, the time to decision was 5 months. On 2.10.22, case updated with interview notice but time to decision moved to 13 months. How do I interpret this? Am I looking at some issues? Can you please share your experience?

Hello everyone, just wanted to thank this channel for providing such a realistic interview to let me know what to expect. I just passed my civics test/interview this morning and now my ceremony is scheduled for next month. This mock interview was almost exactly like my actual interview. Very grateful to this channel - I passed my interview today (waiting for the oath ceremony now). The officer asked only questions from the application. When he asked whether I have ever been "arrested, cited, or jailed", I told him that I wasn't sure whether I should have clicked "yes" there (I had put "no") because I had two traffic related cases (driving w/o license and violation of probation). He asked whether I was arrested or jailed, I said no, he said, don't worry. (I did upload court records in my account and mentioned the violation of probation in the application, but he didn't ask for any details). These two incidents happened to me 10 and 9 years ago, in case that matters. As I understand, officers pay more attention to the last 5 years of the applicant's moral character history. Together with the civics, the interview was super fast, around 10 min. The officer seemed to be nice too, though he had a super serious look while he was asking the questions.

@@PoojaKumar96 i think just around 8 for the civics, and around the same for the application: my name, birth, marital status, previous marriages, current employment, whether I have stayed outside US for longer than 6 months, whether I have ever been arrested, cited, or jailed; whether I have been a member of the Communist party or terrorist organization; whether I'm ready to take up arms for the US. I think that was it.

Hello Jackie. I'm Alexandra Sammon I live in Hawaii and I wanted to say thank you so much and your videos on the channel "Entrevista de Ciudadania Americana". Now I am already an "American Citizen" . Infinite thanks. My English is not perfect, so I watched your videos over and over again. Yesterday I had my interview with a USCIS officer in Honolulu. She was very kind. First I stood up and I swore to tell the truth, then the officer asked me to sit down, and then she asks me for the notification letter, passport, driver's license and green card. So we had a talk about normal things, the weather, what time I had taken my flight. (Since I live on a different island) then it was the reading and writing test. After that we went to the civic questions that were only six questions. after that Review of documents and questions of the N-400. I prepared myself as you teach in your videos. Bring all the documents I might need when it comes time to review my N400 application. And if it wasn't thanks to you, I wouldn't have known what to expect in this part of the interview. In fact, when filling out my online application, I had an error when writing my social security number. So I took the original and a copy and explained it to the officer and she fixed it. At the end of this part, the officer asked me to check on a tablet that everything was correct. and asked me to sign. Afterwards, the officer informed me that my Citizenship application had been approved and I immediately did the Oath of allegiance. She gave me a document where she said that she had approved my application and asked me to come back four hours later for my citizenship. Thank you so much for all of your videos. They are easy to understand and memorize. I binge watched it for a week before the interview day :) This video is the best of the best. It shows exactly what my interview was. I passed the interview and got oath ceremony same day. Reading test: When is Columbus Day? Writing test: Columbus Day is in October. Civic test: you should memorize everything and what the interviewer asks will become a piece of cake. Interview: similar to this video The interviewer is really nice. It's not face to face interview but face to Ipad, so I felt much confident. Please dont be scared because the interviewer does not investigate you to fail you but he just wants to verify your information and double check if it's correct. He asked me about my address, my son's birthday, what do I do, where I work and how long do I work there. Pretty simple. With yes-no questions, you should listen carefully what he asks. You dont have to rush to answer. If you dont know it well or dont understand, ask him to repeat slowly. It can buy you more time to think about your answer. Hope it helps! Gluck you guys. P/s: my tip for success is to be confident. Even if you're not really confident, fake it until you make it :))

@@soriano119 only about 30 minutes.. they aren’t letting anyone in yet, so mostly the time is taken just checking everyone. The actual ceremony is only the oath which takes 3 minutes.

Hi Jackie ! Thank you so much 🙏 I passed my citizenship interview yesterday. Your all videos are Very helpful. I was little bit nervous but adjudicator was very nice. My interview was virtual, and the interview took me only 15 min. When I finished and came back to the waiting area and adjudicator said, you did great job. She was awesome 🤩 I applied on june 8 2021 and I got confirmation of reuse my previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics on June 9 2021. I got interview appointment notice on December 3 2021 that interview is on January 20 2022 at 9:45 in Philadelphia. Here are the details: 1. Asked me to show Green Card, passport, driver’s license and appointment letter. 2. Put me under oath . 3. Part 1, Started with reading and writing test, Read: who elects congress? Write: The people elect congress. 4. Part 2, Civil test A)Who was the president during World War I ? B) what does the Judicial branch do? C) who wrote the Declaration of Independence? D) Name one branch of the government? E) There were 13 original states. Name three. F) The federalist Paper supported the passage of the U.S. constitution. Name one of the writers? 5. Part 3, He asked me some questions from N-400 application, but didn’t asked me any definition and didn’t asked me for any documents. I want to thank you for showing that there is nothing wrong on asking questions. The officer didn’t ask me, Do you have any questions before start, so I asked him, I have a question before we start. I made some errors on my application and I would like to update. And he said what? I said, email and school address. He said, ok will go over and will update. One tip for everyone don’t forget to be smiling face . Oath ceremony will be scheduled in 1/2 weeks. I am so excited for oath ceremony 😆

It was at San Francisco , CA A lady escorted to room n there were 2 iPads . 1 where I could see the office and other to sign etc Said Hello and said we will start the test . Just started with Civic test (No pleasantries ) 1. What was Benjamin Franklin famous for 2. Where is Statue of Liberty 3. Name one branch of govt 4. Ocean to west coast 5. What is an amendment 6. Told to read a sentence written on iPad and write on iPad too Application questions: 1. What is your address 2. Are you married 3. How many times have you been married ? I said just once 4. How many times has your spouse been married ?( my application had said 0, should be 1, he was n is and corrected it - Didn’t make a big deal ) 5. Is your Spouse a Us citizen or GC 6. How many kids 7. Have you been outside of US ? How many times ? Said 4. Were any longer than 6 months ? Said No 8. Who is your current employer ( Told that it changed and showed from the written note - He changed it 9. Have you been arrested 10. Do you have citation ? I said Yes for Speeding ticket - He asked if I paid it and attended driving school and if anyone was injured . ( No docs asked ) 11. Have you ever voted before 12. Have you stood for presential election 13. Many questions - All the ones we marked No . E.g . have you Worked inMilitary , Labor camps , prostitution , deported anyone , overthrow etc No definition asked . No docs asked ! All the best !

Good moral character is a must, follow the protocols and tell the truth nothing but the truth.You don’t need to worry if you are well prepared, all officers are well trained and they are nice. if you don’t understand you can asked them and they will repeat the question to you. Believe me they are nice , they will let you to feel comfortable talking to them. Reply me if I say wrong.
