We call it Têt New Year,not Chinese New Year,back to thousands years ago Viet people is a part of BaiYue tribes which are located in nowaday Guangdong-Guang Xi. Han people invaded and conquered all the land and assimilated almost all the Baiyue tribes. the Lunar new year was invented by BaiYue People because they have rice civilization (which used Lunar time to plant rice). Han people did not plant rice they originally live in North Chjna nowaday!
