This is a quick video describing the process and tools needed for an oil change on a 2024 VW Atlas, this may be similar on some other models using the 2.0L gen 4 engine. I forgot to show in the video how to check the engine oil level, it is on the radio screen when you go to "vehicle" there will be a picture of the car and you can select oil level and it has a gauge that shows min and max on the oil level. my atlas took the whole 6 quarts of oil after I extracted the old oil, after filling it was right at the max line.
Tools Needed-
Oil Extractor that holds 6 qts minimum
32mm socket and ratchet
Parts Needed-
Oil 0w-20 6qts Part# g-e60-020-1q-dsp
Oil Filter Part# 06K-115-562

I see people are posting, saying it does not show important details, I don't see what details are really missing? I gave all part locations, numbers, amount of oil, ect. Only thing I didnt show is pusing the extrator handle up and down and loosening and tightening the oil filter housing which is very self explanatary. Please watch the whole video. I posted this for people who have some experience wrenching, not necessarily for a first timer if that is the issue. I had never used this extractor before but if you have ever used an hand air pump is is the same theory.

I never started it, just pressed start without foot on the brake to enter accessory mode.

Wonder if someone has done extractor and then drain plug just to see if any oil is left behind. I was thinking of using an extractor on my 2024 first oil change but remembered drain plug is magnetic and I want to inspect for any abnormal metal shavings after break in.
