Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoy the videos and find them helpful. Speaking of outdoor gear, have you heard about the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile powerhouse with an impressive capacity, fast recharging, and a waterproof design. It could be a great addition to your camping gear list, especially for those cold winter trips. Keep up the outdoor adventures!

I tested a "new" sleep system this weekend. I have a 0° REI bag which I augmented with a down quilt on top. I ensconced them, and my Thermarest XTherm in a US Army Gortex bivy. The loft was so high the bivy wouldn't zip past the halfway point. The temperature was as low as 4°F but colder with the wind chill. I slept in the open on clear nights and in a 4 season Litefighter 1 tent (which fell apart...it was new!) when it snowed (a lot). The tent took far too long to set up and break down so I really want a simple design like yours for winter. The Litefighter was a HUGE & EXPENSIVE disappointment. I bought it last year so I doubt I could return it. I wish I had tested it immediately. Thanks for doing such great testing.

The battery with the heater seems like a problem. You are probably depleting the battery at a high rate to run the heater so you have less capacity to charge your devices. I would try a couple hand warmer pouches wrapped up with the battery.

Very good list but Justin I am NOT a no-floor tent camper in any season. My winter solo tent is a Tarptent Moment DW (double wall) with 2 doors and 2 vestibules and an optional longitudinal "Crossing Pole" as TT calls it, for snow load. MUMMY BAG-> LL Bean -20 F. with DWR treated down, "CAMP PARKA"-> Eddie Bauer Peak XV -30 F., again, DWR treated down, the only way I like down.

Definitely wanna check out that polar ranger. 👍🏻 At some point could you talk about what you keep in your vehicle/ what vehicle you use to get in and out of these cold weather conditions? Snow tires, jumper batteries etc. I think half the reason I hesitate winter camping is that my car won’t start or I might get stuck at unplowed trailheads.

Love the winter gear videos! I have a question about the Windpro II: What's the lowest temperature you've used it in? Do you take any special precautions with the gas canisters before use, like keeping them inside your jacket to prevent them from getting too cold?

the best winter low to the ground chair that is ultra light is the "grand trunk" mayfly chair. it weighs 1lb 6 ozs and i can use it inside of my hilleberg soulo ....you can literally use it as a hammock if you use your pillow as an ottoman. i guess they don't pay ppl to promote their chair ... cause i have not seen one person review or recommend that chair.

Platypus Quickdraw or Sawyer Squeeze. The only two you really need to consider. There's also Fjällräven Polar which is quit similar to the Polar Ranger. It has arm zips but the hood is different, it's like a jacket's hood so it follows your head and it has a faux fur lining instead of the snorkel. I've been very happy with it except the hefty zippers do not move very smoothly.

I don’t get these tents. Why not use a proper 4 season tent? Even BD rates this as a 3 season tent. In normal winter conditions probably works quite well but you should equip yourself for the worst weather if truly heading out to wilderness

@@JustinOutdoors Sure, but why do you think that manufacturers like BD list these as 3 season tents? For me, the only tent I trust for winter conditions is a tunnel tent with big vestibule. Like Hilleberg Keron GT. It offers protection for against any condition and is reliable

Hey awesome video man. Serious question. If going on a prolonged low temperature outdoor trip, do you always need a synthetic top quilt over the down sleeping bag? Is their a difference if it is -5 celcius or -35 celcius? Will conserdation form from body humidity cause a loss of down loft at any temperature?

5:20 It's NOT a 10,000 mili-Amp power bank, it's a 10,000 mili-Amp-HOUR power bank. Ampere, just like Watt, is a unit to measure energy output. Ampere-HOURS and Watt-HOURS are units of energy capacity. As Ampere and Ah are completely useless units without the voltage (10 Ah at 5 V is 50 Wh, whereas 10 At at 110 V is, you guessed it, 1.110 KWh). I hope you don't have the rest of the units messed up as bad, as I just discovered your channel and do like the style, content and narrative.
