As we head into 2024, I wanted t take just a few minutes to list out some of my wishes for changes to the QC in the new year.

Having the ability to copy an extent of your signal path and copy that elsewhere would be a huge win.

Bass amps and bass effects. Also a better pitch shifter for drop tuning

Metronome with variable output assign. Same access to line two from line one, as to line three etc ( no need for a splitter to access line two). Amp model - Amplified Nation Ampliphonix and gain. Global mono output assign.
@KrlosRodz22 күн бұрын
I agree with you on all of those! For me it would be awesome if the same button could have two different settings on scene mode. Kind of like Kemper’s Morph

I found my list after 2.2 came out: - 1. more flexible MIDI control, 2. Mix control on IR and Leslie blocks, 3. Running NDSP plugs in QC, 4. Ability to save input levels and impedance settings per patch instead of only global, 5. Harmonic Tremolo, 6. Ability to indicate what output should not have cab or IR block enabled.

100% agree on points 2 and 3. and I would like to have a better copy and paste option in desktop editor to take chunks of my signal chain and put into a new preset.

thx for your videos and your good tips about QC! happy new year and stay tuned!

Great list. The only 2 things I would add would be... A. On the performance screens could look cleaner; the scenes on/off appearance looks visually bad, compared to stomps which has more clarity and contrast. I think it's the off state backgrounds and icons are distracting. Stomp view is better but still cluttered. B. I would like to see a few utilities or items added like maybe a Perceived Loudness meter and a Audio Spectral Visualizer on the output signal. - I should add I think this unit is absolutely stellar.
@smellytele96297 ай бұрын
All very good points. One that I would add is being able to assign ANY function to any foot switch, including the three on the far right. I also thing it be cool to have a few assignable functions from some of the ins and outs; amp channel switching, external tap tempo, external control switches, etc
@smellytele96297 ай бұрын
and redo the rotary block, it's terrible.

The ability to send MIDI clock! Please!!! That would be huge. I can't believe it's not already a thing in the QC.

Great list! I would love to see a Benson Chimera model! SO many P&W guys use the Chimera and NONE of the modelers have a Chimera.

Great suggestion. If you're not aware - Amalgam has a really good capture pack for that amp.
@taylormesa7 ай бұрын
@@davlavmusic7070 yes, Amalgam does great work and I really appreciated your demo of that capture! I generally like amp models as opposed to captures. It’s so much easier to have an amp to change settings if necessary than trying different captures all the time… 😂 Cheers!

I’d definitely like to see some more modulation options, especially different stage phasers (6,8,10,12 stage). 4 stage phase 90 type effect is the standard I know, but I really like some of the more out there sounds!
@pino_74287 ай бұрын
I really don’t care about plug in’s compatibility. I think that they will not sound better than what we already have. Auto button assign is a pain in the ass!! They need to get rid of it ASAP! The ability to change from stomp to hybrid (like the Helix) is a must. Load IR’s directly from the desktop editor. I’ve uploaded some IR’s last week and they don’t show in the Quad.
@thehomienicked82087 ай бұрын
These are really great points. I especially like number 4. I wish that, for example, the twelve factory Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra captures had some brief explanation of what the settings on the pedal were when they were captured. I understand that the idea should be to test different captures and use my ears to work out what I like best and that isn't a bad way to go about it, but it would be interesting from at the very least an educational perspective to understand what the pedal is doing in each capture.

I’d like better midi as well, and double functionality for the switches ie double tap for a different function also ability to individualize the stomp switch such as maybe my usage would be two scene buttons and the rest stomps. Plus able to assign up/down buttons to do a function. Besides that I love what it does I just don’t want to have to add an extra midi pedal to do those things. That would be all in one for me.

I’ve owned the quad cortex now twice, and while I appreciate your positivity, I think that your initial comments regarding plug-in capability speak volume about the companies willingness to be forthright and proactive about their stance on the device. I just don’t think that they have the same enthusiasmthat their user base does about the device. This is unfortunate, because the device has so much potential and could be so much better if they spent a fraction of the time that they spend on their plug-ins. That’s just my two cents.
@davlavmusic70707 ай бұрын
I get that. Like I said it's why I think the plug in compatibility is important just so they could fulfill that promise and maybe start to view the two development streams as one.
@SweetAmpsBadPlayer7 ай бұрын
I have no issues with plug ins. I just take my real tube amp, plug it into the wall, speaker, and guitar, and BOOM! Making noise. That being said, I agree. All these other companies (fractal, line6, etc), it’s so easy to get and install packs. I’m a bit older so there is a learning curve for me. I bought some Neural DSPs thinking they were plug ins, and they are not. Which is super confusing and waste of money since I already had a couple of those amps.
@jackryan48537 ай бұрын
Wanna add another thing to the list, can Neural add notifications to the cloud so you can see the new preset uploaded OR existing - edited of those persons you follow.

I’ll share a few- plugin support, longer ir’s - get to 2048 at least, proper Mesa graphic eq as pedal for non-jpiic amps, graphic eq that is graphic (like the one on the jpiic amp), savable presets for effects and amps and cabs - not just the one default setting, folders for ir’s and captures. Missing model- ecstasy and a good quality Engl - catch up to headrush in terms of those amps. Btw I am a big supporter of the QC and have been on board since year one and love your content. Also maybe allow for offline (ie computer based via cortex control or other software) captures - enabling user to harness the ability of their own computers to produce even more accurate profiles similar to tonex - recognizing this may be more time intensive but at least offer the option.

Good list I agree w the priorities. They should build in the ability to save loops per patch in memory. Quick way to add samples and save riffs for writing. It would be great if we could customize the instrument metadata tags too. Be instrument specific vs just guitar keys bass etc. finally a way to rename stomps regardless - I use midi commands on foot switches and I sometimes have to put fake stomps just to label a button so I know where some midi commands r

I'm looking forward to the announced reverbs; Swelling reverb and interstellar reverb. I'm hoping they will come, alongside with the plugin support.

Per preset customization of stomp switches! Sometimes I want 3 scenes and 5 stomps. Sometimes I want 5 scenes and 3 stomps. And I want my most used switches on the bottom row, whether it's a scene or a stomp. That's the big one for me. Other than that, better organization and descriptions of captures, maybe a folder per amp/device, with all the various captures of the amp in the folder.

What i would like to have the most is the ability to save my loops for further use.
@TheCampbell254bme7 ай бұрын
I don’t care about plugins at all. You can get all the tones from the plugins with what comes stock in the QC. BUT i want a click track and more importantly the faux stereo feature in all the latest plugins. It makes things sound massive when you’re a single guitar player in a band or jamming.

I would love an Engl Powerball model instead of just captures, a multiband compressor (or a dynamic EQ) and a stepfilter/slicer emulation! I'd be all set with those added.
@elotro1007 ай бұрын
I agree and would add 1. a Feedback Effect like in the Fender Tone Master Pro (really good, Helix now has also a Feedback Effect which is not as good as the TMP), 2. Dynamic Flanger (because I am a Die Hard Zappa Fan) and 3. truly innovative would be a Pickup Simulator. 4. I really like the kind of realistic icons of amps and effects in the TMP. I would love to have that too on the Quad Cortex.

I would very much like to have flip flop possibilities for 3 or more items on the same button. So by hitting the button it switches from first to second, third snd so on. Today I can do for only two as far as I understood
@davlavmusic70706 ай бұрын
Or do like Fractal and have a long press option.

One, wish I have - possibility to assign input and output levels for each preset individually. This is what I'm missing from day one.
@danserrano217 ай бұрын
Just give me plug in compatibility, and open switch programability. Fractal does the switch assignments perfectly. Allowing you to assign stuff how you like, tap and hold, the ability to change the time for the hold function. Give me those two things and the qc would be the perfect unit for my taste.

As far as I know, Neural DSP plugins are paid, and if they support Quad Cortex, they will need to be purchased. If this is correct, I would like Neural to pay attention to those of us who have purchased Quad Cortex. Allow us to choose one of those plugins, for free, to use in QC. It's just a wish!

I think the only thing about maintaining a stereo signal in all blocks would be that it would eat up CPU (I think at least). Specifically for the amp blocks, since you would essentially have two amps running. Maybe it would be nice to add a stereo option to the amp blocks though, like they do with cabs?
@davlavmusic70707 ай бұрын
Yeah, I realize that and I think your thought is also the most likely. I think if they could make the cpu limits scene specific it might counter the extra cpu needed.
@zzzbb87 ай бұрын
@@davlavmusic7070 yeah, that would be great if they could implement that! I wonder if they have a place you could submit suggestions like this.

Isn’t the wish list for 2024 just the same list from 2 years ago?
@littlespaceman6 ай бұрын
The 3 biggest things on the QC wishlist; 1) Please please please change the awful way that you change Modes, which is currently done by pressing Preset Down and Tuner switches at the same time; IMHO this is absolutely the worst thing about the QC, and I am on a crusade to get Neural to fix this! It is so easy to accidentally change preset halfway through a song if you catch the Preset Down a fraction before the Tuner switch. Suggestions to improve this; a firmware update so that Preset Changing is only ever accomplished by a LONG press on the Up or Down switch. This would prevent any accidental changes to a preset either while changing mode or, and this is just as big a problem, when editing a preset, in Grid view; - a number of times when I'm tweaking a preset, the Preset Down rotary encoder is available to adjust a parameter by turning it. - HOWEVER, all of the lights under the rotary encoders that are assigned to a parameter are lit in the same colour, no matter what Mode you're in. - The only way to see what Mode you're in when you're editing a Block, is the small white writing at the top right. - This is always in WHITE no matter what Mode you're in. (WHY NOT HAVE A COLOUR CODE FOR THIS, SO 'SCENE' 'PRESET' AND 'STOMP' ARE WRITTEN IN DIFFERENT COLOURS?) - I can't tell you the number of times in this scenario I've accidentally pressed the Preset Down thinking I was in Stomp Mode, and turning off a Block to hear the changes as I'm editing, only to find I've changed preset by mistake 😩 2) An update to STOP the ridiculous way the 'Undo' button works; for example, you're in an overdrive block, editing the gain. You change it from 4.0 to 5.5. Then you decide to undo that change, using the rather convenient 'Undo' button. So you press it. And it exits the block edit window, and takes you back to the Grid. Every time. WHY, NEURAL, WHY?! 3) The most positive of all; a Looper update that lets you save loops, and even assign them to a Preset to be recalled automatically. The Headrush units have been able to store loops since the first floorboard came out. There are more, but fix these and I'll be a happy man ☺
