My X5 has iDrive 8.5 and the temp controls are right at the bottom of the screen - intuitive and easy to use. Took me like one day to get used to it. Honestly, it’s taking me longer to get used to the start button being on the console rather than the dash… It’s a non-issue, imo.

Speaking as a huge BMW fan and owner. That dashboard and controls are an absolute nightmare. Aesthetically and functionally. It would be like driving a PlayStation car. Crap!

New iDrive system: “…which is supposed to mimic your iPhone” - which is illegal to use whilst driving because it’s too distracting….am I missing something here? Bring back buttons and dials please.

Exactly why I went with the 2020 model. Felt to me like the last of a dying breed. More raw engine sounds and feel and all the buttons and knobs best car I've ever had.

Company greed for profit is always more important than safety. We have to wait for regulations to bring back real buttons.

@@tedstriker4278 Greed or market dynamics? Trouble is, one company does it, saves money which gives them a process advantage…so the rest have to follow. I know this sounds simplistic but I’m sure it plays a part. Regardless, I would pay the additional to get the buttons back. But suspect many / most? would not…

Currently own a 2022 330e and can’t say enough how much of a great car it is. Been flawless this far, with just over 55k on the odometer. Not one single issue. Rarely have to fill up with gas, as we plug it in daily. Looks great. Fun to drive, of course. Would consider a trade for the 2025 with the increased ev only range.

The G series BMWs have been incredible. I just returned my 21 m440xi lease, waiting on my LCI convertible order, and my mom just pick up her g60 540i. They both drive soooo well and confidently. My first impression of the m440i was that it felt like a 5 series coupe (felt much more solid and refined than the base 2019 430i grancoupe i had prior) First impression of the 540i…feels like a mini 7 series with just enough stiffness in the msport suspension to have some fun. Body roll is noticeable but the driving experience overall is amazing

That's awesome! Massive congrats on all the BMWs in your family certainly a blessing for sure. Agreed on the 2019 4 series gran coupe, I had a 2019 440i Gran Coupe but the new model is def more solid as you said. 5 series does feel like a mini 7 series as well great observations!

I love my ‘21 330i and I’m SO glad I got it before this shift to this interior display. If I wanted to drive an iPad, I would get a Tesla 🤮

The new Mustang interior with the 2 GIANT ( unconnected ) screens looks absolutely terrible and trashy too.

These new Screens are terrible. If it was mounted into the dash, it would be a tad more tolerable but at this point, it looks like a Tablet with a kickstand holding it up. Looks unfinished and doesn't belong in a BMW. Am I supposed to be looking at the road or, have a movie screen for a dashboard? This will make a bit more sense when they implement the tech in the Neue models where most of this information can be placed at the bottom of the windshield in a much less intrusive and tacky way than it is currently.

Yea few changes and like 20 more HP I think it makes 523 HP now will make a separate video on that but don’t worry just keep your car massive congrats on your purchase that’s a big blessing to own an M3!

I quite like the look of this new 3 series, trying to clean behind that dash though is going to be a real bastard, and yeah not happy about no buttons, as Google have one of the better voice recognition and it still gets shit wrong constantly so using an even less accurate voice command system in my car would but be a ball ache, stop with the crap car manufactureres and give us back our bottons and switches!

Yea this tech is such a turn off for me with many modern cars. New C300 is the perfect example, that's a car they absolutely got right but had to throw it all away with their ridiculous infotainment system

Is going to be too expensive for a 4 cylinder and I hate the new IDrive system for ever that is distracting, maybe a B58 engine make me want to get a 330i again cause B46 and B48 are the same trash engines, They going backwards, that’s how I feel about the 330i or maybe that’s what I want, every time I heard 330i I just want to go get an MK5 Supra, almost same starting price with a B58 engine 😅.

The last GOOD BMW 3 Series was the E90 era. Before: Electric Steering, longer & heavier bodies, ugly grills, unnecessary selectable suspension tunings and ever-maddening controls for the HVAC etc. This might be an "exciting" car for a 25 year old with a bunch of disposable income, but most BMW purists miss the good old days when the 3 Series had real steering feel and excellent handling dynamics engineered into the car from the design board.
