Great video man. I can't see Russell missing out, but then again, that's part of what makes the Lions selection such a heated talking point. I'd be surprised if Reffell misses out, and I think Beirne will still be ahead of McCarthy to accompany Itoje as a perfect 4-5 combo.

Very good list Max, I think I concur in general, however I think the Scottish contingent will have 5 and the Welsh just 3, I believe he will be very tempted to pick a few more players from the championship winning side. I think it might be as green as he can get away with.

You just have to be british or irish, dont need to play for the country

The Lions don’t factor in the nation you play in, towards selection, they just factor in the nation you’re eligible for. Shane Williams I think was playing in Japan for the 2013 tour, but still came in as injury cover…

Really hope Ben Earl goes well. He covers 7 and 8. Him and Doris are both exciting players. I would deffo expect Finn Russell to go as a point of difference from Farrell

Ben Earl yes, definitely. Finn Russell, no. He’s got outrageous talents and personal skills but he’s not a true leader. He’s unreliable and too prone to making the odd catastrophic error.

Firstly, the best man for Captain is undoubtedly Owen Farrell. But will he be chosen while contracted to a French club? Can’t see it mate. George Ford will go instead of Owen. All other half backs I agree with, with Crowley as number 1 choice at ten and Ford as no 2. So in that case the only realistic candidate left for Captain is Maro Itoje. Can’t see either Tuipulotu or Jones being selected ahead of Jimmy O’Brien. Finlay Bealham is a more steady option, instead of Dillon Lewis. Ryan Baird and Tom Aherne will travel ahead of George Martin and Will Rowlands. Finally my friend, Jack Conan instead of Jac Morgan is a no brainer. All will be revealed next year!

No Rory Darge is a crime, he has consistently been one of back rows in the six nations when he has played, still young but with a year more development he will be deadly. IMO back row should be Darge Morgan and Earl

what have you been smoking g ? Doris deserves it more it should be Beirne 6, Earl 7 and Doris 8. I would put reffel or vdf before darge.

Darge has been average at best and often missing in action in the big games- Christie is the standout back rower from Scotland but there is huge competition. I still think Russell offers something others cant and he is way better than Smith
