GM should have used the 9 speed auto across the entire line.,as opposed to using a CVT in FWD, and 8 speed automatic on AWD models.

The 4th Gen Equinox has seen in spy shots without Camouflages, but actual production wise is impressive due to looks and a lot of modern tech. But downfalls is of course CVT, and outgoing current gen powertrain. But is expected because the EV Equinox is fully electric.(Same as the Blazer EV too)

Looks great but the engine is a total turn off. 1.5 liter turbo is like a toy, very anemic power.

Great looking vehicle, but there needs to be a bigger engine option and ditch the CV transmission and use the 8-speed automatic for the FWD drives as well. I for one would never own a vehicle with a CV transmission. It is too bad one will have to go AWD to get the 8-speed transmission.

I have this 1.5L in my Terrain AT-4. Not bad, if you're driving around on errands or cruising on a road trip, no complaints. I've had to get on it a few times, and it's not a V-8, but then again, how many times during normal driving do you really need to get on it and need real power? The new Equinox will probably drive just great for what the vast majority of owners will ask of it.

Reminds me a lot of the GMC Terrain lol 😂 still a better looking car than the last generation

Why in heavens name did they use the CVT? Meaning if you want a decent transmission you will need to also get all wheel drive. That is a real negative to an otherwise great revamp

This car needs a 2.4 liter four cylinder engine.

I see an identity crisis here. It's imitating a lot of design cues from other popular brands. One, the two tone color combination of the RAV4 Trail TRD. Two, the floating roof treatment of the Nissan Pathfinder. Three, the taillights of the Toyota Camry.

Greetings from southern Ontario Canada unfortunately I am disappointed that there was no bigger engine offered
