Every generation of new 4runners was hated lol. I remember when they said v6 is not as good as v8 😆

Only the 2nd gen basically took a dump with that 3.0L. Otherwise, good looking and performing truck. The 3rd gen was plagued with endless valve cover leaks but ran alot of miles. 4th gen wasn't as good looking, but made up for it with power and better engines. 5th gen is the most popular for many reasons. The new one probably won't get as much hype but has potential.

I agree, Toyota doesn’t make many mistakes, but they certainly did by not offering their amazing beloved 6 cylinder. If you want to see how the American buyers will respond to the 4 cylinder fine- go with it- but don’t drop the 6 cylinder- WTF Toyota? 😂

For anyone talking about the 4 cylinder please stop ✋🛑. First of all it puts out 326hp and 465 lb-ft torque, the V6 puts out 270hp and 278 lb-ft torque 🤡. If you really want to talk about the 4Runner engine that got away from us all we can then talk about the 4.7 L V8 that easily sees 500k miles with mild maintenance in the limited and SR5 V8 models from 2003 to 2008 then you might have a point. Also that V8 makes 260hp and the torque on that is 306 lb-ft. Making that little 4 cylinder more powerful than an engine twice its size 🫳🎤 Kindest Regards 🤫

You are right. When our 2007 Camry hybrid needed a $3000 battery 10 years ago we thought that was to much then. Probably easily doubled since then.

I’m not gna be like the rest of the trolls that cry’s it’s not a v6. So what. Powerful turbo 4 and hybrid combo is nice.. only thing I don’t like is it’s a bit pricey.. yes I get it it has all the upgrade that makes the previous gen looks like a dinosaur but nobody can afford this unless your making 100k plus salary 🤦🏻‍♂️
