I was able to get this one very easily. This was covered for ABC's Chicago affiliate WLS, the same affiliate that now airs Jeopardy! every afternoon in my hometown.

I just listened to the one minute twenty-one second recording by Herbert Morrison which includes the infamous “Oh, the humanity.” His tone, the background voices… it’s heartbreaking.

Wouldn't the answer be, "What is the Hindenberg?" It asks what thing was 811 feet. That's the airship, not the disaster.

I didn’t get this because I focused on the 811 foot length. I had no idea the Hindenburg was that long. That’s HUGE. My FJ record ends at 5 in a row.

Today I watched an old video from Jeopardy UK. Their rules were interesting. You only could see your own score. That made wagering on daily doubles and FJ very difficult. Their DD were more random. They didn’t know how many there were, and they could be under any clue, even the top one. They had to phrase the questions correctly. None of Matt Amodio's habit of saying things like What's Obama. One guy said what instead of who, and it was called incorrect. They are bringing back Jeopardy in Britain this fall. I hope we get to see it because I love the host Stephen Fry.

Does that mean Margaret Shelton's "What is regular Virginia?" answer wouldn't be allowed either? Or when she and Stephen Webb asked "Is that?" instead of "What is?" Or James Holzhauer simply asking "Where's the beef?" instead of "What is where's the beef?"

The host said the questions had to be phrased as what is or who is, so I guess those would have been ruled incorrect. I’m eager to see what kind of rules they will have in their new version.

I'VE NEVER not only seen a back to back Daily Double between Single and Double Jeopardy, I've never seen the Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy found as the first and last question! Meanwhile, on 27 July, there was a Daily Double found in the second question and the second to last question!

I like Donna and congrats to her on the win. You surely have to assume Ryan is going to try for the double up in money, so if you're Donna you need to bet $4401 to get to $23,201 and lock him out if you're correct. This isn't a criticism mind you, as I have been to a taping of Jeopardy (3 episodes) and all that make it to the Alex Trebek stage impress me to no end.

I still remember what Tony Soprano said when Phil said Fat Dom was last seen in New Jersey. Tony said "So was the Hindenburg. Maybe you want to check that out."

What is the Hindenburg?

It was a large passenger airship built in 1936. It was meant to be filled with helium, but due to cost and availability, the Germans used hydrogen instead, which is flammable. It caught fire as it was landing in New Jersey. The exact cause was never determined, but most theories think it was a gas leak ignited by static electricity in the air (there was a thunderstorm in the area that afternoon).

Been following Jeopardy as a kid in the 60s and just finished watching a couple of them with the original host Art Fleming. No doubt that the questions in the original shows were a lot tougher. I call it the Dumbing of America.

I do wish they would use less pop culture questions. Less TV and movie trivia, less sports. I’m also not in love with the puzzle type questions, like today’s First Ladies wordplay. But, that’s just one person’s opinion.

I thought Art Fleming was very classy. I would watch Jeopardy every weekday morning during summer vacation.
