Omg this almost happened to me!! It was someone from Ireland that wanted my candles for her local gift shop. Thankfully I had that feeling that this was not right and I emailed her saying I could not do it. Funny thing that I never even heard back after that email.

I had a chargeback for $7000 once. Yes THOUSAND. 😬 That’s one of the reasons I don’t do wholesale anymore 😅

I’m so sorry that happened to you but thank God, you won and got your money back!! This is one of my biggest fears! Being new to running your own business is so terrifying. I’ve been researching for the past year on how to spot scans and how to stay protected legally and etc. And yet, I. Am. Still… terrified.

I've never had any chargebacks, but I hear that they are out of hand. It's really sad that people are so focused on scamming businesses

So sorry you had to deal with this. I'm glad you won the case. I had my business card hacked last month. My credit union caught it and only 1 charge went through. They reversed it and are investigating. I'm so over people's sense of entitlement. 🙄

SIREN code is a registration code for companies located in France, but not concerning overseas companies, if this can help. Good luck with your work!

Oh no. I agree that you are more likely to have issues once your out there. I have a channel to and in the last year I get so many calls from other countries and they hang up if I answer. I’m so funny about watching for it. Sad world . So happy you won

I had a similiar experience with a creepy webdesigner. Such a bad gut feeling. He was pushy, out of line, started to make moves on me. I canceled order thankfully.

Thank you, Judith, for letting everyone know what happened. I think that once anyone is on social media they are opened up to these predators. Another KZfaq channel that has a Shopify business was sued because their Shopify site was not sufficiently accessible to a blind person, who seems to be suing any site he can. Glad you won your case, unfortunately they didn't. Please make sure your Shopify site is not vulnerable in this area.

@@ShalimarGaynor There is special software the blind use to access websites. Nobody thinks about that when they set up their website but if it can't be used by a blind person and they are "denied the right to purchase" from your site because it's not compatible with this software you can be sued. I think the law is called the Americans with Disabilities Act (around the 1970's). Yeah it's disheartening to innocent businesses who are unsuspecting.

I was very engaged in your story because every word was so truthful and... I can still feel your pain. I would like to encourage you to NOT be afraid of collabs and/or sponsors. Yes there are a few bad apples in the bunch but, I sometimes feel, we as humans, punish the masses for a few bad apples... if you know what I mean. As a KZfaqr myself I have had so many great successes (another channel by the way) with very little scamming or trolling. Anyway, I know you know what you are doing as "you are the boss" but I thought I would chime in from one heart to another. The last thing I want to say and this is interesting human psychology... why do we say no and give a reason? I mean we very rarely say yes and give a reason so why do we do it in reverse? No, I can't sell to you because (blah blah blah)... I think from now on I am going to try and just say NO without giving a reason!!! Unless it's to my wife... Then I just list off reasons why until I feel she is satisfied. But I digress... Anyway, what a great story and hopefully you listen to your gut in the future... as I know you will... because Instinctually we are more intelligent than we sometimes allow ourselves to be... Love it!!!

WOW YES!! thats exactly how I've been trying to live my life now... saying NO without giving a reason. I said the same thing too! And yes you're right, it's horrible that we have to punish the masses for the few that did us wrong. Now I'm just extremely careful now who I work/collab with. thanks so much!

There’s a small chance that the “scammer“ used a name similar to the real persons identity that they stole, and for that reason I didn’t want to give out the name. And if a scammer were to do this again they most likely wouldn’t use the same name anyway
