Well adding the word „denn“ doesn‘t always make you seem more polite. If you use it in a question for example „Was denn noch?“ it comes off as very impolite and annoyed.

Here are some tips if you want to sound like a real German: Instead of saying "Hallo" or "Guten Tag" you can allso say "Jo leute, der King ist mal wieder auf trocken am start amk" If you want to say "I dont want to talk to you right now" politely you can say "Verpiss dich" or "Willste Stress". If you want to say "Goodbye" politely you can say "Bruder muss los"

But PLEASE dont use „servus“ in another staat than in Bayern and Österreich bc only this two areas in the world use this word

You pronounce everything really well! But don't use the "mal" too often, in most cases it isn't more polite, but the opposite... Better add a "bitte" everywhere or use the subjunctive. The best way to ask would have been: "Dürfte ich vielleicht ein bisschen Speck probieren?" or "Darf ich ein bisschen Speck probieren, bitte?".

You shound be really careful with the "mal". In my opinion it can make a sentence sound even more rude. "Mach das mal" is a really rude way to say that someone should do something. It's better to say "Könntest du das bitte für mich machen?"

i was taught "doch" is used when someone has a positive answer for a negative(in quote) question. for instance in english Q: Have you not eaten? A: No, I have eaten. Q: Hast du nicht gegessen. A: Doch, ich habe gegessen.

"Mal" is not polite at all. It's a filler word that makes you sound informal. If you want to sound very polite, use the conditional tense and add "bitte". "Dürfte ich bitte etwas Speck probieren?" No offense, but I'm starting to question your teacher's Sprachgefühl.

"Mist" is less strong than "Scheiße". You would get away with saying Mist in a formal context, but if you said Scheiße, it probably wouldn't sit well with the people you're trying to impress. Mist is more like the American "shoot", whereas scheiße is like "shit".

Hey Marina, "doch" is an answer to a "negative" question. So e.g. when I ask: "Hast du Hunger?" The answer would be "Yes" But if I ask: "Hast du KEINEN Hunger?" we say "Doch!" (instead of "yes"). :)

"doch" is something you say when u want to *disagree with a denial/negation* . imagine: A: "i am taller than you" B: "no you arent" A: " *yes* i am" the "yes" would be translated as "doch" even though "doch" is not exchangeable with "yes".

“Was darf es sonst noch sein” is way bettet than “was darf es noch sonst sein” (the 2nd option sounds really English). Btw you are a really lovely person and also as a German native it was great to watch the video 😍 keep on doing this, your German sounds quite good😊

The "ne" is more for friends because it doesn't make a good Impression for strange People. The best way to translate "it's good weather outside isn't it?" is: "Es ist schönes Wetter draußen oder?" So you better take "oder" and not "ne"

Okay, the most mind-blowing (mind-blowing for Germans) and easy thing that you can do to sound like a real German. Here it comes. Instead of greeting people you know with "Hallo" or "Guten morgen", you say: "Naaaaaaa???". Observe Germans who know each other well and you will see it. Thank me later.

Oops, bloopers (almost) everywhere. "Passt schon" is primarily, if not exclusively, used in the southern regions of Germany and here in particular in Bavaria. The correct sentence under 5. reads " Was darf es sonst noch sein?" Spelling in 8. is: sowieso 9. "doch" certainly never means "yes and no", as it has affirmative character. In your sample sentence it would mean something like: The opposite is true. Notice how you as an English native start your answer in the sample with: "No, we have been to Germany...." Germans start the phrase with "doch" which is a kind of substitute for "yes". 10. Many commentators below nailed this one, but... (isn't there always a but?) in some cases it can indeed sound friendlier. But it needs a "doch" for that.Let's take your sample. From "Mach das" to "Mach das mal" isn't really that big of a change. Use "Mach das doch mal" instead and you enter the track of politeness in many, not all, cases. 12. "ne" is the short form of "nicht wahr?" and is used, as you said, in spoken language. Thanks to you I think about aspects of my language I never thought about before ☺️. I was quite surprised hearing "Doch" is so difficult to understand. The way you used it, by saying: "Doch, wir waren in Deutschland [...]" is one of two possible uses I know of. It's actually simple: Either you're using it (like you did) to make clear that you don't agree with the statement your dialogue partner made OR it's just a word without further meaning, : "Lass uns doch in die Stadt gehen." In this case it could be left out, without changing the meaning of the sentence. In the first case it would be even enough to say "Doch", to make clear that you think that the opposite of what your dialogue partner stated is true. Hope it helped a little 🤯🤫
