I never weighed the plates but as a whole target its safe to say easily 50+ lbs

I see this type of demonstration a lot. I can't see where this provides any useful information. After all, this ammo isn't made for shooting lead playes, is it?

Ammo is made to shoot whatever I want to shoot with it. The lead plates are only one medium on which I choose to display its destructive capabilities with.... soon to be followed by bowling balls, concrete pavers, auto glass, 5 gallon buckets and whatever else happens to come to mind. Well technically the lead plates are perfect for 458 SOCOM. The round was requested and created to be more effective at stopping vehicles. So…
