I didn’t make the call specifically. But in many ways, yes! Who else does airbags, flat 6 engine with smoothness and power? There are contenders as there always will be. Another host points out its like Vanilla and the Indian Challenger or HD Road King may be strawberry or Chocolate. I’ll take all of them in a big ole yes sir Sundae! They can all be king!

@@AnywhereRider I definetly understand your point of view as if I had my way, Id have one of each motorcycle brand. But what makes the GW a winner for me is what you get for the price. Especially comparing to HD and Indian. Ive never had the opportunity to try a DCT Motorcycle but it is on my bucket list....

I actually agree with you. Wish I had. I know it has plenty of torque! Surprising for what some would call a dad bike.

Nice video on the Goldwing. 👍 My brother has a 22 Goldwing DCT. It's a nice bike. I have a 21 Harley Davidson Road Glide Limited. Goldwing is about 75-100 pounds lighter, and the not having to pull in the clutch with my bad hand, has me possibly looking to trade my Harley in on a Goldwing. Lol.

It does make it tempting for sure! They’ve done some cool things with this bike. DCT, a handbrake and airbags are all next gen.

I’d have to agree the Goldwing is one of if not the best touring bike out there and super reliable. I do think I’d like the clutchless system but it would take some getting used to. Just not a fan of the looks…at all. But that’s just my opinion. Same with my cousins bike. He has a Victory Vision. One of the best bikes I’ve ever ridden and handles like a sport bike. But ugghh it’s not a looker, 😂. All that being said you can’t beat a Honda, 😎.

Some love the look of the Victory bikes. They look futuristic to me. And based on my taste for classic looking bikes, you may guess what I think of them. The Honda is a different flavor to be sure. I have to keep in mind what it is I want the bike for. For pure exhilaration, it’s not a Goldwing. BUT, for buttery smooth refinement, quiet sound for the long haul, it’s right up there with anything going! I’m learning this fast, I can’t have too many motorcycles!

I own a Victory Vision and yes the styling of it is a matter of taste. Their performance and handling is extraordinary. The Honda Goldwing (probably DCT) would be my second choice if I decided to replace the Vic for a number of reasons. I am 68 years old 6' 4" and 270lbs with a 33"inseam. Having hill hold, walking forward and reverse to aid in parking and not having to mess with a heavy clutch is a big advantage at my age. Like my Vic they are very reliable, and better in city riding than any of the American brands. You do, however, need to put a skid plate on them since even a speed bump can crack the engine case if you hit it to fast. But if you can only have one motorcycle that is good at all kinds of street riding, the GW is it.

DCT is definitely very compelling for those with arthritis or perhaps another injury. Convenience is enough of a reason too! On a few long trips, there have been times my hands got tired and the clutch did feel heavier than normal. DCT is a game changer! - I had heard about the need for a skid plate. Thanks for mentioning that. - at this point what is most compelling to me about the Wing is it’s exhaust note and it’s overall quiet nature. This isn’t normally what I would seek, but in a long distance touring bike, wind buffeting and exhaust noise can become bothersome. The Goldwing just sounds great! Like you, Reliability is always a concern. And Honda has always performed well in that area. - looks of a motorcycle is always a matter of taste. Even with this Goldwing, many hate it’s current angular styling. I’m not one of them. I think it looks good. When considering this bike, I’m hyper focused on benefits as a touring bike. I like the looks of it but would like it more if there was a way to quickly remove that trunk for a low key bagger look. Thanks for commenting. The conversation is what makes all this fun! Ride safe!

@@lewisbutchee5445 good choice I think. Probably how I’d have done it too. The aftermarket top cases are nice, some have integrated lights, etc. and the bike looks cool as a bagger!

After owning a new GW, I must say, its the king, in my book. Honda made me not touching anything else....period. No HD or Indian or Triumph and not BMW K for sure. On all levels, this is the bike to own !!!!!

The right fit is critical! I love the GW and I very nearly bought one a few weeks ago. I did end up with the Indian Pursuit. For me, it came down to two things. I had a bit more storage in the Pursuit. And I’m a tall rider so the bike just fit me a little better. BUT, I do love the GW! It’s been on top for decades for a reason!

@@AnywhereRider For me, not having a center stand and no fwd/rev walking mode was a no on an Indian. It’s a very nice bike, no doubt. Bike is top heavy and not easy to move around and I am 6’4”. Still was a challenge. Enjoy your bike ✅✅✅

The center stand is sweet. Walking modes too! I’d definitely like that. Although I don’t notice the Pursuit being as top heavy as the HD. The Honda has a built in advantage, the low flat 6!

@AnywhereRider I'm like you getting use to a automatic would be tough at first. I went through the same thing when the company I drive for replaced our tractor/trailer units with automatic transmissions. We're all creatures of habit I guess.

Not saying that I couldn’t of course. But it would take a minute! I wonder too about engine braking. That could be done using a paddle shifter but would be very very different

Welcome to the DCT GIRLY CHANNEL where real Motorcycle Heritage is lost to Pure Laziness in shifting where thier riders should be driving an automatic Kia Carnival to put thier porta potty & suitcases full of skirts in😅😅😅

I hear ya! I myself couldn’t quite understand the benefit. BUT, consider a rider dealing with Arthritis or perhaps a foot injury. Or maybe just routine commuter traffic. I was a skeptic. I’m not anymore. The tech seems solid. That said, I didn’t pull the trigger for one. But I look at it differently than I did. You should ride one. It may surprise you!

@@AnywhereRider Yes I can see if you have a true disability that hampers shifting maybe but for healthy people C'mon.!! You just paid $34k out the door for a big automatic Vespa just sitting there and lazily twisting a throttle..Shifting is about heritage and balanced more controlled integrated power and its just written In the Bible for God sakes.. Of course it's probably nice to ride but you have to fight that feeling and if your that disabled you need one then you shouldn't be on 2 wheels anyway.. 🙉...

I’ll admit that my feelings were about as hard lined too at first mention. I couldn’t understand WHY. Lazy is a word I thought. Scooter another. But I’d rather have two wheels with DCT than a trike as I age. A trike doesn’t feel the same at all in the turns. Or if I dealt with high traffic density everyday (Atlanta or Chicago). I can see both sides. At the end of it all…I just wanna ride!

My opinion you should do better research on a motorcycle before making a KZfaq video. Because people what to know about the motorcycle and the functions and how they work. Later

Ok. Appreciate your thoughts. I’m not trying to emulate the gear heads that look only at specifications. We can all do that on our own. I go by feel. And that’s how I see it. But to each his own.
