Thanks Alan. The vlog was daunting for me but guess this one leant itself for me getting involved. I am totally with you re the training. I find it hard to believe you can get on a boat and just go! People would be shocked if this was allowed on the roads. I have subscribed to your channel too. 😃. Regarding the jobs, Paul’s has naturally come to a stop due to COVID-19 and this has prompted his to concentrate on his art work. I will still be working and am actually going back to uni in a few weeks! Eventually I reckon we will either reduce our hours.

I know how hard it is, I’ve tried. 😂 I just can’t talk to a camera, I’m much better suited behind it pressing the buttons 😂

If we ever meet you, you'll both be invited to my wifes famous Sunday roasts with proper homemade yotkshire puddings! You'll be well seasoned canal boaters by the time we get there so we'll be looking for advice! We are both so excited for you getting on the water with your own boat - it will be a great episode!

We are well and thanks for asking. I think we are just ready for this political year to be over. We are ashamed of how the current administration has acted to not only Americans but the our good friends abroad! I guess that tells you where we stand. Sorry to get political but it has been a nightmare here. My partner Dean is in the medical field and has seen so many sick with Covid. I am just so glad he's a Physical Therapist and not in direct line to be on the floors where all the sickest are, however he would be great with them. You guys take care and enjoy life!

John H We are in a similar situation and are totally ashamed of our administration too. Glad you are both well. Take care both and stay safe. Things hopefully can only get better x

Hi Sean thank you for your kind comments again. We wish we could invite our top followers to our launch. We had a visit to the boat yard today and so excited with the progress. Only a couple of weeks and the boat should be ready. We even popped to the marina that we will be launching from. Paul and Anthony 👍

@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked Even if you could invite us, the US's idiotic policies and our so-easily-misled population have us all trapped in a prison of our own making at the moment. Lots of us taking all the reasonable precautions and bearing the load of it so a bunch of other folks can carry on as if there's no reason to be decent humans and take care. Not enough people in this country have any regard for the lives and well being of others, and it's disheartening. So many people don't think there's any real health impacts or that the C-19 impacts are overblown due to politically-based lies about the data that it's impossible for there to be real action taken at the national or even in many cases state level. I work in health care data sciences, so there's no doubt in my mind about it, but we're just screaming into the void here. Guess in November we'll see if the US is truly a country that cares more about "F-you, I got mine, and as long as I'm not then I'm better than them" than anything else like equality for everyone regardless of race, relationship preferences, or background or about caring for people who aren't as fortunate. I've spent a lifetime here trying to be a decent person and to share things I've been lucky enough to either earn or have fall in my lap, but I may have finally hit my limit in being able to convince myself that 'enough' other people here feel the same to ever have improvements in the future be an achievable goal. It may truly be a time to pick up and spend some time abroad to refresh and maybe regain some hope in basic humanity. So, in a silver lining, maybe a narrowboat is in my future for at least the allowable chunk of a year where I'd be welcome in the UK as a visitor :)

I can only imagine how you feel, we have family in the States and I know how tough it must be right now. We have little faith in our government and the ignorant people that don’t take COVID seriously are selfish and probably voted for Brexit. The amount of idiocy and people dropping litter in beautiful places as though they don’t give a sh..! It would be good if you could take some time out in Europe. We are so glad to be escaping onto the cut. Stay well and try and stay positive 💕

No. This boat is our boat builder’s boat and as part of the purchase they include our helmsman training which consists of a weekend stay and training on their boat. 😃

They are experienced but have to pass an exam to make sure they are competent
