I fished there in the 1980 s ,when it was any method around Nov, fishing worms ,wasn't to interested in the trout ,had some of the biggest best perch of my life absolutely monsters ,great days and I had a trout 18 lb 4oz one of the biggest caught in country ,😊😊

I agree catching on your own flies is much more satisfying. I have got some cheap long shank hooks but with a narrow gape lost a few fish using them , they are going in the bin !!

Been watching your videos for a few weeks and now a subscriber. Do enjoy them aswell. We all bump fish off while playing them with barbless hook but not having a barb I think causes more damage as the point not being fixed in place with a barb is allowed to move about cutting the flesh before it pops out when the fish throws a hook.at places like you fish do you not notice small tips around the mouths of fish.a lot of fisheries adopted marbles thinking it would be less damaging but I think the opposite has been made.only quick release with barbless is better.

It's the fight they put up at this time of year, I landed a 14lb rainbow 2 yrs ago and it was in the net within 2 mins, these 3-4lb fish are giving me nothing but trouble. Keep well Regards Mick

Hi Its the same as this one kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sM2onpWWy57MmH0.html , but using a olive tail and thread for the body, then use some UV to cover the body, Streamer hook 12 or 10. Regards MD

Fantastic vid as usual - loving the content. Can I ask though - what on earth is that reel you've got?? The way you're able to spin that line back onto the reel is amazing!! I'm stuck with an old Vision Koma and have to just reel it on with the handle which takes ages with a lot of line out!! 😥😄. Thanks again and really great videos 👍

The leader is about 14ft long, 8ft of 12lb Konger Fluorocarbon from the end of the fly line and then i add 6ft of Fulling mill V2 7lb to a single fly. Thanks for watching MD

I have lots of different lines and just using it up, i used tiger line for a while. but its quite expensive now. the last 6ft is the most important not to be seen that's why I've gone for V 2 this year. in fact last night I ordered some 8lb ghost line to try out on the last 6ft for my local water.@@mikel3379

Hi, I live in Bacup, do you know of any local fly fisheries other than Pennine, I don’t drive due to failing eyesight so local is better for me to get a lift too!

Hi They only ones i know are a lot further then Pennine, preston, skipton and huddersfield areas, even ryburn is further than pennine and its just over the boarder from you. Regards MD

As the water warms up more , combine algae, water flea blooms. Yes black, natural, tan or olive still work As the water becomes discoloured start to increase the amount of orange used ultimately total orange. With pink being equally effective. As ever a great session and you covered all the relevant bases.

With a floating line? How long is the leader and tippet please? Then how deep do you fish with the floating line? Thanks for info!

Hi you can make the leader as long as you wish, but for this fly the whole leader is 14ft ish down to a 7lb end section 6/7ft to the beaded fly, The fly will sink, but 1,, I retrieve right way or 2,, leave it a few seconds then retrieve or 3,, leave it even longer to sink and then retrieve. using figure 8 or 6, 12 inch pulls. This is just for this fly, Regards MD

1 is a 10ft 6wt for the sunray intermediate line and the yellow line is on a 6wt 9 ft rod, both rods cost £55 and do the job, well pleased with them. Regards MD
