Haha yes indeed! Hungry cats don't care about the work of voice recording! Unfortunately, if you're living in the West, a lot of the price you pay is due to the shipping 😪 It sucks, but if you were to remove shipping and middleman fees, you would probably be paying 2/3 or even just 1/2 for some of those figures! Thank you very much for your support! I appreciate your kind words and your time in watching my videos! 😁😁

Hello DinosDragons. I very much like your content as its not just a review but also has quite an analysis of the species, so that us casuals can get into learning about thesese creatures. Im getting into PNSO myself, but due to the lack of space and budget, Id prefer to keep the collection small. Do you have a top 5-10 reccomended pnso models? Id very much appreciate the input. And thank you so much.

Meraxes has just arrived and oh boy this one is gorgeous! The sculpt, paintings, details... absolute perfection. The thing is, I (and probably everyone) never expacted a company make a figure of a species that was just discovered last year! And probably this is the first time I would dare to say; "Dang, it's better than its promotional image!" Borrowing some of TierZoo's terms, it seems that tiny arms are 'the meta of large canivorous theropods in Cretaceous expansion.' Tyrannosaurs, Abelisaurs, Carcharodontosaurs... they all seems to had invested on their bitings and have tiny arms since their jaws do most of their work, thus no need for big and strong arms. This is the point that makes us qurious; "Ok, what's with the huge talons of Meraxes? If they were on 'biting - all - in' meta, what was the actual use of them?" I think this is the charming point of Meraxes gigas. We do not know whether they were useful for hunt or not, and that's where the fun begins. I was so shocked when PNSO announced Meraxes and now they're going to bring Mapusaurus roseae to the market. I think PNSO's plan is to make Carcharodontosauroid collection.
@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons Жыл бұрын
Well you are very much correct, because with Mapusaurus now, it's clear that we have almost all the significant carchardontosaurids! So if in fact they give us Concavenator, there would really be nothing more I would want from this clade. Who knew we'd get carharodontosaurids filled out faster than the tyrannosaurids! I think you must have been very delighted to see it in person! The sad fact is that there is a lot of dynamic range that isn't easy to capture. the happy thing is that whatever looks good on video, often looks better in person. It's had to say why Meraxes toe claw was so big, but the wonderful thing about paleontology is that there is always something new to discover that will shed light on an entire group. Only time wiill tell! 😁

Wonderful Review as usual. Thank you for that. What happend in the Background is well known for me, while i record something, hehe. He or she was a nice addition to the Video :) While the Coloration and Paint application really are great, at least to me, i really like the Pose. PNSO Theropods often have the Hips as the highest Point. With exceptions of course. And while thats fine as it is, it is refreshing to see another calm and natural, yet highly aware Pose. I like it a lot.

Lol hungry cats don't care about unimportant things like voice recordings! 🤣🤣 I'm glad you found it as amusing as I did! Very good point; I should have mentioned that! Yes indeed the posture is subtler different simply because of that, and it's nice that it shows that to be able to stand without a base, doesn't mean that the poses must always be the same. Given that they probably walked the same way more or less, these subtle changes are very welcome, especially to those who recognize it!

This just became one of my favorite PNSO theropod presentations. The color scheme is probably nowhere near what the animals looked like but the aesthetics can’t be denied as a positive move in color structure by PNSO. And, as always, the sculpt is magnificent with the rich detail and accuracy. No brained purchase.

And in your comment, we have my general philosophy as well. I think up to a certain point, there are certain leeways we should allow for, and we would all enjoy this hobby and the models that are out there a lot more. If everything were held to the most exacting standards of scientific plausibility, this would be a very confining art indeed. And in fact, the very extinct nature of these magnificent animals makes "exacting standards" a bit of an impossibility in itself. Just a cursory overview of all the competing views between credible scientists makes that clear. I hope you enjoy your purchase. It is really something quite special, this little ceratopsian!

Centuries eh! 🤣🤣 I highly suspect PNSO will give us some marine animals this year. As for smaller dinosaurs, I think it's about time! The absence of the eudromaeosaurs is very noticeable. I am expecting that it would have to be on a larger scale though! I'm sure you saw how having a 1:35 Nanotyrannus meant in terms of size and detail. Certainly not sufficient to give full glory to the Velociraptor. Perhaps on a similar size to their Microraptor would be nice.

In the previous Giganotosaurus video, I mentioned that I hope to see 'Maip macrothorax and Llukalkan' soon. But I didn't mention 'Meraxes' because I never thought they would deliver two back-to-back carcharodontosaurid theropods within this short period. So this is a pleasant surprise. And being fairly a new theropod, 'Meraxes' is so lucky that PNSO gave it some special treatment. I always say, my favorite theropod paint applications from PNSO are Tarbosaurus and Torvosaurus. And now this new Meraxes paint job goes into that same category. I can see why they chose this species this quickly. Because they didn't have to change a lot in the figure, just like you said, most of it is the same. Being in the same Tribe as Giganotosaurini, that chin is so obvious. Since PNSO released four Carcharodontosauridae family members, from those four, two of them being Giganotosaurini, I think PNSO will complete that Giganotosaurini tribe. And hopefully, some flying reptiles maybe 😉. As always, I Love watching your videos, my dear sir. And thank you for the lecture. I learned a lot about this new genus from you and eagerly waiting to see the next video. Keep up the fantastic work, and wish you all the best. Be safe ❤
@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons Жыл бұрын
Thanks as always Rajitha! Indeed, while I expected Meraxes would make an appearance eventually, I would never have thought they'd do it back-to-back. It was quite a risk especially since many who bought Giganoto as a Museum Line would possibly have skipped on this one due to saturation. As it turns out, we can see that with colouration like this, it would be hard to pass. I would never have thought my selection of carchrodontosaurid species would surpasss my tyrannosauroid ones, and now PNSO has done just that for me! I'm almost hoping for another tyrannosaurid, most obviously the 'long-armed' Daspletosaurus. I've wondered about pterosaurs, but I think more 'urgent' might be a plesiosauroid of some kind! And I have a very, very strong feeling that PNSO is going to give us sea animals this year! You take care and hang in there!

You said it! There are many points of unhappiness with PNSO for many people. But when you actually own one of these, and get to view the kind of paint application that a video cannot fully demonstrate, and the scale detail, you realise these models are a cut above many others. The only thing I hope they can fix right now is the sloppiness in the teeth. Especially after Rebor has shown us how it's done.

@@DinosDragons they really are a blast! I also picked up the Suchomimus and am so surprised to how well they design their models and how they actually stand on their own as well. I display it with its stand (to avoid warping) but sometimes it’s cool to admire it standing independently. Why do people complain about stands/bases? They’re so cool! Especially stylised ones, such as the Dino Hazard Irritator, which I ordered recently (for half price!). Stands allow for top notch models with perfect proportions, so not only are they cool, they can make or break the whole figure. For example, I’ve been disappointed with CollectA’s more recent theropod models. They seem to be going down an almost Mattel style route with the giant feet. I backed down from JW ages ago. Nice detailing, but apart from that, nothing special. They’ve also been doing this thing where some dinosaurs have teeth going underneath and past their orbital fenestra. How ugly is that! Let alone inaccurate. And you bring up Rebor’s excellent toothwork. We need more companies implementing that beautiful, sort of translucent and realistic looking structure. Keep up the awesome work, man! Easily one of the best review channels on the platform

You might try the hot water treatment. Immerse it in hot water, and when it softens, reposition it in place and hold it for a few minutes. However these figures _will_ warp over time without the support. It's a well-known phenomenon, and no matter how well their theropod balances out of the box, you absolutely have to use the supports. You don't want to set it on a shelf, and then find out the next day it fell off. You can see that even in mine, at various angles the dinosaur is already looking a little off kilter. Hopefully PNSO can use harder material in future, but the fact is that that would likely increase production costs which will be passed to the consumer.

Sadly mine cant stand by itself, i think it's because of the long claw which was weak, soft and cant support the weight
